The Lens: Hong Kong should follow Singapore’s lead with flexible work schedules

We asked our readers to write an essay titled "My Day out with Shawn Mendes". Here is one of the entries. It has not been edited.

Hong Kong is a small city with numerous tourist attractions. If I could have a day out with Shawn Mendes, below would be my one-day trip plan in Hong Kong.

To start off the day, I would take Shawn to Cha Chaan Teng for breakfast. I'm sure that Cha Chaan Teng, offering a wide range of local cuisine, from silk-sock milk tea to French toast to pineapple bun, would definitely excite Shawn's appetize.

Trying out Hong Kong's unique and mouth-watering cuisine could not only provide an authentic dining experience to Shawn but also let him get to know more about Hong Kong's history and culture.

After having a lovely breakfast, Mong Kok would be our next stop. Being one of the major shopping areas in Hong Kong, Mong Kok could show Shawn that Hong Kong is a multi-cultural city. In Mong Kok, Shawn and I could wander around while eating delicious local street food, such as curry fishballs and egg puff. We could also go to the Ladies Street, where countless stalls selling a wide variety of goods were set up. Maybe I could even teach Shawn how to bargain for a lower price and watch his performance!

Speaking of Hong Kong's famous tourist attractions,  A Symphony of Lights should definitely be on the list. Considering that Shawn loves music, watching the light and sound show would be a great idea. The show allows Shawn to enjoy the dazzling and breath-taking night view of the Victoria Harbour while watching the spectacular light show and listening to the beautiful melody.

To end the day, I would take Ding Ding Tram for a ride with Shawn. Then, we could sit next to each other and listen to our favourite songs with earphones on while letting the breeze run through our hair and forgetting all the things temporarily.

This would be my one-day trip plan in Hong Kong with Shawn Mendes in my Imagination.
