Season two of our bite-sized Friday podcast has returned! Season one followed Hong Kong students as they returned to school after the worst of the Covid-19 pandemic and covered topics such as mental health and young entrepreneurship.

In the latest season, we offer you, our listeners, snippets of our conversations with young Hongkongers who are dedicated to making the world a better place.

This month we will focus on the environment and climate advocacy. We talked to students and youth climate activists about why it’s important for young people to be part of saving the planet.

In this week’s episode, we spoke to Ryan Yip Yuk-long, 23, one of the youth climate advocates who represented Hong Kong at this year’s United Nations Climate Change Conference, better known as COP27.

“More youths and youngsters are stepping out of their comfort zones … [protesting] about climate change and talking about how important it is to stop consuming meat to think more about our planet,” said Yip, who recently graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Science in environmental science.

“Those young people in Hong Kong, I swear, never cease to amaze me.”

Tune in to hear more of what Yip had to say about his rewarding experience representing Hong Kong at COP27.
