Recap by phillip woo

Punted late Master Of All drew clear after hitting the lead 200m out following a box seat run for a second straight win and a third following a move to blinkers. He's in the form of his life and there's no reason why he can't perform well off a light weight next time out in Class Four. General Winner ran on nicely to just edge favourite Perfect Peach for second after making his run five back and one off the fence. He has put the writing on the wall with placings in his past two of three starts for his new stable. Perfect Peach ran on steadily for third after a rails run from midfield. It was another honest effort in the grade. Joyful Friendship ran on nicely after having to switch off the heels of Beat Hollow 100m out to place fourth from behind midfield. It was a good run following a downgrade. Well-backed Noble Win made headway late after a rails run beyond midfield to just miss a first four spot. He is hard to get right. Beat Hollow gradually faded over the last 100m after dictating the run as expected from gate five. More Rice will sleep well after a handy run wide without cover.

Racing Incident Report

Race One : (656) - YAU MA TEI HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1400Meters

Horse No 1 ALWAYS AWESOME (H245) H Bowman Shifted in shortly after the start and was bumped.

Horse No 2 JOYFUL FRIENDSHIP (H295) M F Poon When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight and the reason why his mount became held up behind BEAT HOLLOW near the 150 Metres, M F Poon stated that his initial intention was to take a run to the inside of BEAT HOLLOW when that runner shifted out near the 250 Metres.

He said when BEAT HOLLOW shifted back in approaching the 200 Metres and the run closed, he then contemplated shifting to the outside of BEAT HOLLOW to obtain clear running.

He added when NOBLE WIN was positioned to his outside, he was unable to shift to BEAT HOLLOW's outside and as a result was steadied away from the heels of BEAT HOLLOW for some distance thereafter.

He further stated that over the final 100 Metres when BEAT HOLLOW shifted out, JOYFUL FRIENDSHIP obtained clear running and finished the race off well.

The Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Poon were reasonable in the circumstances.
