Recap by phillip woo

Early favourite Gold-Fun was snagged back to third after going forward from a wide gate, then was badly held up until pulling off heels four deep at the 250m before finishing furiously over the final 100m to claim victory close to home. Super Lifeline settled second along the fence behind Helene Spirit, worked to the front at the 150m and found one too classy in the end carrying a light weight. Well-punted late, Designs On Rome make his run second from the rear and one off the rails, still had a heap of ground to make up at the top of the straight and finished strongly after switching into the clear with two wider out at the 150m to just grab a placing carrying top weight. It was a huge run and he'll be hard to beat when next stepping out over a mile or further. Rewarding Hero settled behind midfield and one off the rails, shifted out with three wider out at the 400m and ran on nicely. Flagship Shine peaked on his run 100m out. Post-time favourite Secret Sham straight five deep and came up one-paced over the final 200m after travelling midfield along the rails. California Memory made his run at the tail of the field, cornered three deep and made ground late over an unsuitable trip.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (063)-THE CELEBRATION CUP (HANDICAP) - Hong Kong Group Three - 1400Metres

REWARDING HERO began awkwardly and shortly after the start was bumped by SECRET SHAM which shifted in.

Approaching the 1200 Metres, FLAGSHIP SHINE was steadied away from the heels of HELENE SPIRIT (A Suborics) which shifted in when being ridden along.

A Suborics was advised that in similar circumstances he would be expected to make more of an effort than he did on this occasion to prevent his mount from shifting ground and causing interference to other runners.

GOLD-FUN was badly held up for clear running approaching the 250 Metres and then passing the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of FLAGSHIP SHINE after being awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse.

CALIFORNIA MEMORY had some difficulty obtaining clear running approaching the 100 Metres.

Over the concluding stages, DESIGNS ON ROME and REWARDING HERO raced tight.

Throughout the race, WINNING LEADER travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of BLAZING SPEED and HELENE SPIRIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SECRET SHAM, GOLD-FUN and SUPER LIFELINE were sent for sampling.
