Racing Incident Report
Race Eleven: (223)-SALISBURY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Metres
BO DUKE was withdrawn on 6.12.14 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter RIYADH (A Atzeni).Before being allowed to race again, BO DUKE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
From wide barriers, RIYADH, GOLDLAND DANCER and BUDDY BUDDIES were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
On entering the Back Straight passing the 1200 Metres, JAEGER BOMB shifted in and bumped EXECUTIVE MANDATE.
Near the 600 Metres, KITAYA was awkwardly placed close to the heels of BUDDY BUDDIES.
BUDDY BUDDIES had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.
A veterinary inspection of JAEGER BOMB immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
EXECUTIVE MANDATE, VERDANE and OSCAR MIRACLE were sent for sampling.

Race 8 (212)Making the turn after the 1100 Metres, JOYFUL THE GREAT and GRIMMY bumped.

Second favourite, Verdane saved ground in midfield, came one off upon straightening and quickened nicely to grab victory 120m out. Plunged late, Oscar Miracle enjoyed the box-seat run, assumed the front 250m out and went down fighting in his initial run on the dirt. Favourite Executive Mandate settled fifth near the inside, came four deep for a clear run at the 200m and ran on reasonably well to come out a clear third. Goldland Dancer was ridden for luck second from the rear from a wide gate, straightened two from the right and was getting going late to grab a Quartet spot. Scimitar settled one off worse than midfield, rounded the final bend with four wider out and ran on steadily to just miss a First-4 spot. It was an encouraging run with a step up to the mile. Buddy Buddies travelled in the second half of the field and was getting going five deep when the race was all but over.
