Recap by phillip woo

Choice Exchequer was easily to clear from an outside gate for the lead leaving the straight, straightened near two lengths on top and kept on gamely despite drifting about under pressure to just hold Mr Vanilla by a nose for a maiden win at his 17th start. Mr Vanilla rallied strongly with one wider out after travelling one off the fence behind midfield with a return to Class Five. Early favourite Better Announce made headway four deep after settling fifth from the rear to grab a placing. Safari Magic had to work early on to find a spot one off the fence in second at the 1,100m, was forced five deep upon straightening by the eventual winner and grudgingly gave way. Crimson Heart made ground without menacing near the inside after travelling third from the rear. Sweet Bean was pulling back the margin four deep after travelling second from the rear from an outside gate. Red Adventure came up one-paced over the final 150m following a prominent run along the fence. Plunged to start post-time favourite, Yeung Sing was squeezed out soon after the start and only got by a few widest out.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (104)-ISLAND HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1650Metres

MR VANILLA began only fairly.

YEUNG SING was crowded for room on jumping between SWEET BEAN which shifted out and CRIMSON HEART which shifted in after beginning awkwardly.

Then from wide barriers, SWEET BEAN, YEUNG SING and CRIMSON HEART were all shifted across behind runners.

Despite being vigorously ridden along in the early stages, BETTER ANNOUNCE failed to muster speed.

Passing the winning post on the first occasion, SAFARI MAGIC was left racing wide and without cover and was then ridden along to improve its position to settle outside the lead after the 1100 Metres.

Passing the 1400 Metres, RED ADVENTURE travelled keenly and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CHOICE EXCHEQUER.

Approaching the 1300 Metres, ENDLESS LOVE bumped the running rail and shifted out, resulting in STRIKE EAGLE being inconvenienced.

Near the 300 Metres, STRIKE EAGLE shifted out away from the heels of KHARU which shifted out when commencing to give ground.

Over the concluding stages, SWEET BEAN raced in restricted room between BETTER ANNOUNCE and CHOICE EXCHEQUER.

A veterinary inspection of KHARU immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

YEUNG SING, CHOICE EXCHEQUER and MR VANILLA were sent for sampling.
