Recap by phillip woo

Premium Champion was ridden quietly second from the rear and three deep from a wide gate, swung the final bend furthest out and quickened well to eventually get the better of Holmes Legend 60m out for the win with a key rise in trip. Plunged late, Holmes Legend settled fourth from the rear, swung the final bend with two wider out, poked his head in front from favourite Ashkiyr 200m out and found one too good in the end. Ashkiyr travelled behind midfield and one off the fence, loomed a winning chance four from the right at the 200m and peaked on his run 100m out. He's most effective over 1,800m. Redwood Baby was doing his best work late with one wider out after travelling third from the rear to finish a non-threatening fourth. Autumn Gold was patiently ridden second from the rear from a wide gate, was held up near the inside upon straightening, switched into the clear with three wider out at the 250m and closed off reasonably well thereafter. Industrialist Way eased back to travel fourth along the fence after vying for the early lead, stayed near the inside upon straightening and came up flat.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (132)-CARL F.

ENTITLING began only fairly.

From the outside barriers, AUTUMN GOLD and PREMIUM CHAMPION were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After the 1700 Metres, SEMPITERNAL became unbalanced after being bumped by SUPREME FRESH.

After being aggressively ridden in the early stages, SEMPITERNAL was left racing wide and without cover until passing the 1400 Metres at which time the horse was steadied to obtain cover behind SUPREME FRESH.

SEMPITERNAL was again left racing wide and without cover after the 1200 Metres.

SUPREME FRESH travelled wide and without cover until passing the 1400 Metres at which time the horse was allowed to stride forward into the lead.

After the 600 Metres, HAPPY ROCKY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ALLCASH.

Passing the 500 Metres, REDWOOD BABY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ASHKIYR.

Near the 300 Metres, HAPPY ROCKY was checked when crowded for room between ENTITLING and ALLCASH (R Fourie) which, when giving ground, got its head on the side and shifted in away from HAPPY CONTENDER which, when being shifted to the inside of SEMPITERNAL, was taken in marginally by that horse.

R Fourie was advised that whilst there were a number of circumstances associated with this incident, in similar circumstances he must do his utmost to prevent his mounts from shifting ground and causing interference.

Rounding the Home Turn, ASHKIYR and HOLMES LEGEND raced tight as ASHKIYR shifted out into clear running from behind SEMPITERNAL.

AUTUMN GOLD was unable to obtain clear running from on entering the Straight until approaching the 300 Metres.

A veterinary inspection of HAPPY ROCKY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
