Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (195)-THE BOCHK WEALTH MANAGEMENT JOCKEY CLUB SPRINT - Group Two - 1200Metres
GOLD-FUN began awkwardly.From wide barriers, LUCKY NINE and CHARLES THE GREAT were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the 800 Metres, CHARLES THE GREAT was left racing wide and without cover.
N Rawiller (SMART VOLATILITY) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 1100 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of STRATHMORE which lost its rightful running and was checked when taken in onto GOLDEN HARVEST which was also hampered.
N Rawiller was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday, 28 December 2015 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays).
The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Happy Valley racemeeting on Wednesday, 16 December 2015.
Approaching the 600 Metres, CHARLES THE GREAT and I'M IN CHARGE raced tight as I'M IN CHARGE improved into tight running outside GOLD-FUN.
Approaching the 300 Metres, STRATHMORE was shifted to the outside of CHARLES THE GREAT after being held up and awkwardly placed inside the heels of that horse.
Passing the 200 Metres, GOLDEN HARVEST was checked away from the heels of SUPER JOCKEY which was giving ground after being disappointed for running between that horse and I'M IN CHARGE.
When questioned, Z Purton stated that after shifting his mount out in the early part of the Straight, he placed I'M IN CHARGE under pressure.
He said passing the 200 Metres he changed the whip into the right hand as I'M IN CHARGE was shifting in away from CHARLES THE GREAT.
He said he commenced to ride I'M IN CHARGE out, however, passing the 150 Metres CHARLES THE GREAT shifted in which resulted in I'M IN CHARGE being awkwardly placed inside that horse from that point until over the concluding stages.
He added because of these factors he was not able to place I'M IN CHARGE under full pressure over the final 150 Metres.
After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on GOLDEN HARVEST the request of Trainer A T Millard.
The Veterinary Surgeon reported that this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, GOLDEN HARVEST will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of SMART VOLATILITY immediately following the race revealed the horse to have bled from both nostrils.
A veterinary inspection of SUPER JOCKEY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GOLD-FUN and PENIAPHOBIA were sent for sampling.

Favourite Gold-Fun settled midfield in the run from a good gate, shifted into the open five deep at the 300m and finished nicely to take control 150m out for a 10th career win. He'll be a live chance in December's HK Sprint. Peniaphobia was pestered by Super Jockey after crossing to lead from a wide gate, cornered a length on top and went down fighting. Not Listenin'tome kept plugging away four deep after enjoying a lovely run on the back of the speed with cover to just miss second prize. Lucky Nine came on willingly widest out from the tail of the field to grab fourth. Charles The Great covered ground third from the rear, rounded the final bend with one wider out and closed off well. Strathmore was patiently ridden underneath Lucky Nine, then was held up until switching into the clear widest out at the 250m and finished up nicely thereafter in a promising run despite a leap in class. I'm In Charge kept on evenly following a one-off run beyond midfield. Dundonnell had no excuse following a prominent along the fence. Specked late, Smart Volatility came up empty following a handy run.
