Recap by phillip woo

Late-fancied favourite Be There Ahead was patiently ridden one off the fence fourth from the rear from a wide gate, swung the final bend widest out and finished willingly to take control 100m out for a first win at his 29th start. He can win another. Good Method briefly hit the front with three wider out at the 150m mark following a three-deep run with cover in midfield and found one too good in the end in a better performance with a drop in grade. Fast And Furious closed off nicely with two wider out after travelling deep with cover worse than midfield. Plain Blue Banner made a steady bid near the inside after saving ground beyond midfield. King's Steed was only grinding away following a boxseat run. Early favourite Seasons King was ridden upside down pressing the speed without cover and came up one-paced over the final 100m. He merits another chance. Oracle settled midfield along the fence, swung the final bend four deep and kept on steadily after having to check off heels at the 180m. Charter Victoria cornered a length on top after setting an even pace and was yielding ground 130m out. Friends Forever was only one-paced when getting steadied between runners at the 200m following a one-out, one-back run.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (417)-FU TAI HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1400Metres

KING'S STEED and FRIENDS FOREVER bumped at the start.

FRIENDS FOREVER then shifted in and brushed CIRCUIT STAR.

From wide barriers, ALL IS WELL and MAGICAL BEAM were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Passing the 1300 Metres, SEASONS KING got its head up when travelling keenly.

Then after the 1100 Metres, SEASONS KING was left racing wide and without cover and after the 900 Metres was allowed to improve its position to race outside the lead.

MAGICAL BEAM had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.

After the 200 Metres, FRIENDS FOREVER and ORACLE raced tight as ORACLE attempted to improve between FRIENDS FOREVER and SEASONS KING where there was insufficient room.

This resulted in ORACLE being held up for clear running close to the heels of SEASONS KING.

Passing the 200 Metres, FRIENDS FOREVER was then steadied when crowded for room between ORACLE which continued to be awkwardly placed close to the heels of SEASONS KING which shifted out and GOOD METHOD (G Mosse) which shifted in under pressure.

G Mosse was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he makes every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground and causing interference to other runners.

Near the 100 Metres, PLAIN BLUE BANNER shifted in and bumped CHARTER VICTORIA.

For the majority of the race, DOUBLE POINT travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, Z Purton reported that CHARTER VICTORIA did not feel comfortable in its action.

A veterinary inspection of CHATER VICTORIA immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its left front leg.

Before being allowed to race again, CHARTER VICTORIA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of CIRCUIT STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

BE THERE AHEAD and GOOD METHOD were sent for sampling.
