Racing Incident Report
Race One: (426)-TSUI MAN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Metres
SHOWING CHARACTER was crowded for room on jumping between LEAN JOURNEY which lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and TELECOM BOOM which, after initially shifting out, was then taken out by PERPETUAL JOYANCE.From a wide barrier, RUGBY DIAMOND was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 800 Metres, PLANET CHOICE became unbalanced when momentarily crowded for room between FANTASTICO and YAT DING WIN which shifted out.
Making the turn near the 600 Metres, PLANET CHOICE, after racing tight between FANTASTICO and PERPETUAL JOYANCE, shifted in and bumped PERPETUAL JOYANCE, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced.
PLANET CHOICE then shifted out and lost ground after being awkwardly placed inside the heels of FANTASTICO (R Moore).
R Moore was advised to ensure that he leaves comfortable racing room for runners to his inside in similar circumstances.
Near the 100 Metres, STORM KID was awkwardly placed close to the heels of TELECOM BOOM after shifting in away from the heels of YAT DING WIN which was giving ground abruptly.
Throughout the race, FANTASTICO travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that PLANET CHOICE had bled from both nostrils.
A veterinary inspection of YAT DING WIN immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils and to be lame in its left hind leg.
OCEAN ROAR and PERPETUAL JOYANCE were sent for sampling.

Ocean Rear was gifted an easy lead, cornered two lengths on top and kept up a strong gallop for a sixth career win over this trip. Favourite Perpetual Joyance stayed on nicely following a box-seat run to edge Fantastico for second in a pleasing debut. Fantastico lost second late after punching the breeze three deep near the speed. Rugby Diamond ran on well with three wider out after travelling fifth from the rear to finish a distant fourth. He's a winner waiting to happen in Class Five. Born To Race ran on steadily without menacing three deep after travelling on his lonesome in midfield from a wide gate. Planet Choice settled one off in fifth, lost some ground when checked off heels 550m out, stayed near the inside upon straightening and kept on one-paced over the final 150m. Showing Character made some ground with one wider out after travelling at the rear following a tardy break. Yat Ding Win faltered badly after stalking the speed.
