Racing Incident Report
Race Six: (580)-THE RACING WORLD 40TH ANNIVERSARY CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 3 - 1000Metres
BIG BANG BONG began only fairly.JOLLY SPRING was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Near the 850 Metres, ROUNDABOUT raced tight inside TRIUMPHANT JEWEL which shifted in.
Near the 700 Metres, LAMAROSA was left racing wide and without cover.
Near the 650 Metres, TRIUMPHANT JEWEL was steadied away from the heels of SKY MAN (K Teetan) which shifted in when not quite clear.
K Teetan was advised to ensure that he is properly clear when shifting ground.
Neat the 200 Metres, Apprentice H N Wong (ROUNDABOUT) momentarily dropped his left rein.
When questioned, M Chadwick stated that it had been intended for FANTASTICO to be ridden in about 5th or 6th position.
He said FANTASTICO began only fairly and when a number of other horses were being ridden to obtain forward positions, he felt that he would have had to do too much work on FANTASTICO to obtain the position as instructed and further he may be left racing wide and without cover.
He said therefore he elected, in the circumstances, to obtain a position with cover on FANTASTICO in the early stages which resulted in the horse racing slightly further back than had been intended.
A veterinary inspection of BIG BANG BONG and RACING MATE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
BIG BANG BONG, SKY MAN and TRIUMPHANT JEWEL were sent for sampling.

Sky Man pressed the leader Ocean Roar to his outside from a wide gate, assumed the lead 160m out and just prevailed over Triumphant Jewel for a fourth win from 20 outings. Triumphant Jewel was getting closer with every stride after straightening five deep following a one-out, one-back run. Ocean Roar showed superior gate speed to lead from a wide gate, cornered a length on top and grudgingly gave way. Lamarosa stayed on nicely with three wider out after a no-cover run travelling ahead of midfield to spice up the Quartet. Happy Bao Bei finished up reasonably well after peeling out five deep upon straightening following a rails run in midfield. He's one to keep safe when next stepping out over 1,200m. Fantastico travelled behind midfield outside the favourite Big Bang Bong, turned the final bend widest out and got going when the race was all but over. Plunged late, Roundabout had no excuse following a box-seat run. Racing Mate found very little with one wider out upon straightening after a one-off run with cover in midfield. Debutant Big Bang Bong was struggling 150m out after travelling behind midfield along the fence following a slow break.
