Recap by phillip woo

Speedy Wally needed every inch of the step up to 1,800m to get up in the dying stages for the win after travelling behind midfield. He's not straightforward but has done well to pick up a second win from three outings this term and remains well-handicapped near the bottom of Class Four. Autumn Gold ran on well following a one-off run fore of midfield to make it close on the wire. He's hit a bottom and will be winning shortly. Aztec Empire grudgingly gave way after poking his head in front at the 550m following a prominent run without cover from a wide gate. It was a big run in defeat, living up to two earlier placings this term, and he remains one to follow. Rank outsider True Comment wouldn't go away without a fight after dictating the running for the most part. Supernatural had no excuse stalking the leaders. Nash Rawiller did a good job of staying on Smart Union who appeared to lose his iron 1,000m out.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (100)-THE IRELAND TROPHY (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1800Metres

As the start was effected, ENTRUSTING lifted its front feet off the ground and consequently was slow to begin.

WEALTHY FORTUNE was crowded for room on jumping between AUTUMN GOLD and KING BOUNTIFUL, both of which shifted ground.

From the outside barrier, SUPER FORM was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Near the 1700 Metres, the buckle of N Rawiller's (SMART UNION) right stirrup leather broke, resulting in the stirrup iron coming loose and N Rawiller being severely disadvantaged for the remainder of the race.

After the race, the Stewards, in the presence of N Rawiller, inspected the stirrup leathers used by Jockey Rawiller in this race and found this gear to be relatively new and in good condition.

Passing the winning post on the first occasion, AZTEC EMPIRE was left racing wide and without cover.

Approaching the 600 Metres, SUPERNATURAL was momentarily crowded for room between TRUE COMMENT and AZTEC EMPIRE which improved its position into the lead.

Approaching and passing the 600 Metres, CASA MASTER and SPEEDY WALLY raced tight and making the turn after the 600 Metres CASA MASTER raced in restricted room between SPEEDY WALLY and THE RAINBOW.

Shortly after entering the Straight, TRUE COMMENT was bumped by AZTEC EMPIRE which lay in.

In the Straight, SPEEDY WALLY raced with its head on the side and lay in under pressure.

A veterinary inspection of WEALTHY FORTUNE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of CASA MASTER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

SPEEDY WALLY and AUTUMN GOLD were sent for sampling.
