Recap by phillip woo

Lucky Guy shifted into the open at the 300m following a rails run in midfield and closed willingly to take control 30m out for a first win at his 10th start following a good run firstup. He's ready to move higher this term. Orionids was pestered by Hammer King for the lead and still kept finding off a featherweight to hold second at a price following a gear change. It was only his fifth start but he is clearly headed in the right direction and if all does pan out in the next few runs, he'll be finding himself ready to click in Class Four. Brilliant Dream came on strongly down the outside travelling second from the rear to place. It was his best run of the term and he does usually hold his form for a few runs when hitting form. Victory Machine plugged away following a box-seat run to fend off raging favourite Love Shock for a Quartet spot at only his second career start and first in Hong Kong. He's open to plenty more improvement.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four: (160)-KOSE COSMEPORT HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Metres

After being bumped by VICTORY MACHINE on jumping, CONVINCIBLE was then steadied to obtain cover.

From a wide barrier, BRILLIANT DREAM was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After the 800 Metres, GOLDEN CHOPSTICKS was left racing wide and without cover.

At the 400 Metres, HAMMER KING shifted in and bumped ORIONIDS.

Passing the 400 Metres, HARRIER JET was bumped and taken out by VICTORY MACHINE (S Clipperton) which shifted around the heels of HAMMER KING to obtain clear running.

S Clipperton was advised to exercise due care in similar circumstances.

Then passing the 300 Metres, HARRIER JET was steadied when crowded for room between VICTORY MACHINE and LOVE SHOCK, both of which shifted ground.

In the Straight, ORIONIDS raced greenly, lay out under pressure and near the 300 Metres got its head on the side, shifted out and bumped HAMMER KING.

When questioned, N Rawiller stated that shortly after entering the Straight he attempted to direct BRILLIANT DREAM out from behind GOLDEN CHOPSTICKS to make its finishing run.

He said however that passing the 400 Metres BRILLIANT DREAM lay in and was reluctant to shift out from behind GOLDEN CHOPSTICKS.

He said he then had to make a more concerted effort to shift BRILLIANT DREAM out from behind GOLDEN CHOPSTICKS and as he did this, GOLDEN CHOPSTICKS shifted out under pressure, resulting in BRILLIANT DREAM having to be checked out away from the heels of that horse.

When questioned, J Moreira stated that, in his opinion, LOVE SHOCK did not race disappointingly.

He said the horse had improved from its first up run and he believed that it would again take further improvement out of todays' race.

A veterinary inspection of LOVE SHOCK immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of HAMMER KING, HARRIER JET and LANG TAI SING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

LOVE SHOCK, LUCKY GUY and ORIONIDS were sent for sampling.
