Racing Incident Report
Rac One: (231)-ASHLEY HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Metres
RUGBY DIAMOND and NO LAUGHING MATTER bumped on jumping.POWER DRAGON and STARRY STARLIES began only fairly.
SOCCER BRAVE began awkwardly.
When being steadied to obtain cover approaching and passing the 800 Metres, BORN DRAGON proved very difficult to settle and got its head up for some distance.
Making the turn near the 700 Metres, FLYING CAPTAIN was left racing wide and without cover.
Near the 75 Metres, ATOMIC BLAST was shifted out away from the heels of POWER DRAGON and then passing the 50 Metres was directed out away from the heels of BORN DRAGON to obtain clear running.
A veterinary inspection of FLYING CAPTAIN and PARENTAL SPIRIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SLEDGE HAMMER and GIDDY GIDDY were sent for sampling.

Favourite Sledge Hammer came on strongly after travelling patiently beyond midfield in a swiftly run race to overhaul them 50m out for the win after a pleasing first-up outing this term. At eight years of age, he doesn't have too many big runs left in him but off a lightweight can still be competitive off a lightweight in Class Four. Thumped in betting, Giddy Giddy might have more dates on this surface after giving a cheeky sight vying for the front to overhaul Rugby Diamond for second. Starry Starlies came on nicely down the outside after travelling underneath the eventual winner to snatch a placing in the final stride. He hasn't been as far off the mark in four outings on both surfaces this term and the featherweight did help. Rugby Diamond succumbed in deep stretch after holding the fence in a battle for the front. He's not genuine. Power Dragon produced only a grinding effort after a handy run. He might prefer a longer trip.
