Recap by phillip woo

Show Mission took control 200m out following a box-seat run for a maiden win at his 14th start as the firming odds-on choice. Joao Moreira has a knack of jumping on at the right time but he looks like he can win another at this level. Giddy Giddy stayed on well after stalking the leader Prompt Express for second. He has trouble winning but is always capable of a positive run over this trip. Noble Buddies isn't genuine but closed off better following a midfield run to get the bob down in a blanket finish for third following a move to cheek pieces. Golden Glory was the only to make any serious headway late from the second half of the field to make it close for a placing. The switch in stables and downgrade brought about an improved effort and he'll want further than the 1,000m. Highland Dragon disappointed despite enjoying a one-out, one-back run. He's beyond his better days. Prompt Express knocked up badly inside the lead 150m after leading from a wide gate despite a downgrade. He'll require further relief in the ratings and claimer's allowance.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (473)-LUARD HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1000Metres

KING OF SMARTS began awkwardly and lost ground.

FLYING PROSPERITY began awkwardly and was slow to begin.

NOBLE BUDDIES began only fairly.

FANTASTIC FABIO began only fairly and shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of HIGHLAND DRAGON which shifted out.

GOLDEN GLORY shifted out at the start and bumped PERFECT SMART.

Despite being ridden along in the early stages, ALL TOGETHER was slow to muster speed.

From a wide barrier, ALL TIMES LUCKY was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Approaching the 800 Metres, FLYING PROSPERITY became very unbalanced of its own accord.

Passing the 100 Metres, HIGHLAND DRAGON and NOBLE BUDDIES bumped.

Near the 50 Metres, GOLDEN GLORY shifted out and brushed ALL TOGETHER.

T H So (ALL TIMES LUCKY) was fined $5,000 for excessive use of the whip on a horse out of contention.

When questioned, O Doleuze (GIDDY GIDDY) stated that in the early part of the Straight he intended to shift his mount out away from PROMPT EXPRESS as he had formed the view that the horse responds better when away from other runners.

He said whilst he had intended to shift out marginally, GIDDY GIDDY initially shifted out further than he had intended and then got its head on the side and lay in in the early part of the Straight.

He added GIDDY GIDDY subsequently finished off the race satisfactorily.

After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on ALL TOGETHER at the request of Trainer C S Shum.

The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, ALL TOGETHER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of PROMPT EXPRESS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SHOW MISSION and GIDDY GIDDY were sent for sampling.
