Recap by phillip woo

Savannah Wind came with a bold move two from the right after travelling second from the rear to get up in the final few strides following a rise in trip at his eighth start and second in the grade. Holy Unicorn found one too good after surging to the lead approaching the 700m with a sustained move from near the back 1,200m out. Punted late Telephatia improved from the rear mid-race and kept on well for a placing to continue his honest form over this course and distance. Loyal Craftsmen came up flat in the last 150m after taking off 500m out following a deep run in midfield. Sweet Bean was getting going late from the back. He's always a chance over the 1,800m to 2,200m at this level. Proud Sky came up one-paced travelling fore of midfield. The big weight anchored him and he's better over a slightly shorter trip. Favourite Le Panache had some excuses in the drive when trying to get going from beyond midfield on the fence. He's not one to write off.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (210) - FIFE HANDICAP - Class 5 - 2200Meters

PROUD SKY and HOLY UNICORN bumped at the start.

From a wide barrier, SAVANNAH WIND was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Making the turn passing the 2100 Metres, TELEPHATIA was shifted out away from the heels of SAVANNAH WIND (Z Purton) which shifted in when not properly clear.

Z Purton was advised to exercise more care.

Passing the 1800 Metres, TELEPHATIA got its head up on a number of occasions when awkwardly placed close to the heels of HOLY UNICORN.

Then passing the 1600 Metres, TELEPHATIA was shifted out away from behind HOLY UNICORN.

Passing the winning post on the first occasion, TELEPHATIA, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of HOLY UNICORN which shifted out away from the heels of LE PANACHE.

SUPERNATURAL raced wide and without cover until after the 1200 Metres at which point HOLY UNICORN was left racing wide and without cover.

Rounding the Home Turn, LE PANACHE was held up and unable to improve when awkwardly placed behind SUPERNATURAL and WEALTHY FORTUNE.

At the entrance to the Straight, LE PANACHE became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by GOLD VELVET (U Rispoli) which shifted out.

LE PANACHE was then checked passing the 300 Metres when disappointed for running between AUDACITY which shifted out and WEALTHY FORTUNE which was giving ground.

U Rispoli was advised to exercise more care when attempting to improve into tight running so as not to cause unnecessary contact with other runners.

LE PANACHE then had difficulty obtaining clear running until approaching the 150 Metres.

At the 150 Metres, SUPERNATURAL was bumped on the hindquarters by WEALTHY FORTUNE which shifted out away from LE PANACHE.

A veterinary inspection of LE PANACHE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

LE PANACHE, SAVANNAH WIND and HOLY UNICORN were sent for sampling.
