Post-time favourite Peace Combination kept finding after being pestered for the lead by Fish N' Chips for an overdue win after seconds in three of his opening six runs this term. He's racing in good spirits and could ring up another over this Valley trip. Dr Proactive finished nicely for second after switching into the open three from the right following a handy run. He's naturally coming to hand in his three starts but looks one better suited over a longer sprint. Early favourite Exceptional Desire came up one-paced over the final 150m following a box-seat run to just hold a placing. Speedster hasn't missed a placing in his five starts this term but might need to make use of a claimer. Lunar Zephyr was doing some nice work late down the outside after making his run deep behind midfield from a wide gate. It was a better effort on his opening three starts but is one that usually improves with racing. Dr Race left things too late.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (249) - LONGINES INTERNATIONAL JOCKEYS' CHAMPIONSHIP (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1000Meters

EXCEPTIONAL DESIRE shifted out at the start, resulting in SILVER SPUN being taken out onto the hindquarters of DR PROACTIVE, causing SILVER SPUN to lose ground and DR PROACTIVE to become unbalanced.

When DR PROACTIVE became unbalanced, that horse shifted out, resulting in RICHCITY FORTUNE being taken out onto JOLLY BOUNTIFUL which was hampered.

From the outside barrier, DR RACE was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Also from a wide barrier, TRIUMPHAL TRUMPET was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

RICHCITY FORTUNE travelled keenly for some distance after the 700 Metres.

Passing the 500 Metres, SPARKLING TALENT got its head up when being checked away from the heels of RICHCITY FORTUNE.

Passing the 200 Metres, JOLLY BOUNTIFUL and SPARKLING TALENT bumped.

Near the 150 Metres, SPARKLING TALENT shifted to the inside of FISH N' CHIPS and in doing so raced tight outside JOLLY BOUNTIFUL.

Then passing the 100 Metres, SPARKLING TALENT and JOLLY BOUNTIFUL bumped and became unbalanced when racing tight between FISH N' CHIPS and SILVER SPUN which shifted out marginally.

Throughout the race, LUNAR ZEPHYR travelled wide and without cover.

Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of P-C Boudot (EXCEPTIONAL DESIRE), 3rd placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race where circumstances permit.

After the race, J Moreira stated that FISH N' CHIPS did not stride out comfortably throughout the race.

A veterinary inspection of FISH N' CHIPS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, FISH N' CHIPS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

PEACE COMBINATION and DR PROACTIVE were sent for sampling.
