Recap by phillip woo

Richcity Fortune responded nicely when asked for an effort following a deep run with cover in midfield to just overhaul Sea Pearl inside the final 20m to ring up a second win for rookie trainer Jimmy Ting Koon-ho. Outsider Sea Pearl was just denied after poking his head in front from Natural Flare 250m out following a prominent run on the fence. The change of scenery at Conghua appears to have worked wonders for him. Punted late Natural Flare kept on nicely to fill a placing after being hampered in deep stretch by Sea Pearl following a one-out, one-back run. A class drop and the summer recess appeared to help. Post-time favourite Victor Emperor wasn't going well enough when getting hampered close to home following a handy run. It wasn't a bad run first run back following a knee injury. Corre Rapido kept on all right near the inside following a midfield run. He'll be a force to be reckoned with back on his preferred dirt surface.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four: (4) - TIM MEI HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters

As the start was effected, EXPONENTS lifted its front feet off the ground and consequently was very slow to begin.

Before being allowed to race again, EXPONENTS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.

RICHCITY FORTUNE and VICTORY MARCH bumped on jumping.

After this incident, RICHCITY FORTUNE was ridden along to obtain a more forward position and approaching the 1100 Metres was steadied away from the heels of REGENCY HONEY.

ELITE POWER began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of NATURAL FLARE, resulting in NATURAL FLARE becoming unbalanced and ELITE POWER stumbling.

ROCHFORD and OTOUTO bumped at the start.

From the outside barrier, SURE SUPREME was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Making the turn near the 850 Metres, VICTORY MARCH was checked and lost ground after getting its head on the side and shifting out towards the heels of THE INVINCIBLE which was racing tight inside SURE SUPREME.

Passing the 400 Metres, EXPONENTS raced tight between ELITE POWER and SURE SUPREME which shifted out.

Approaching the 200 Metres, D Whyte (NATURAL FLARE) dropped his right rein.

Over the final 200 Metres, SEA PEARL shifted out under pressure.

Approaching the 75 Metres, VICTOR EMPEROR was momentarily steadied away from the heels of RICHCITY FORTUNE (Apprentice C Wong) which shifted in under pressure.

Apprentice Wong was reprimanded and advised that he would be expected to make every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground.

Passing the 75 Metres, NATURAL FLARE was steadied away from the heels of SEA PEARL (N Callan) which shifted out under pressure.

N Callan was severely reprimanded and advised that whilst the degree of interference to NATURAL FLARE, in the opinion of the Stewards, did not warrant a charge of careless riding, nonetheless in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mounts to prevent causing interference.

For the majority of the race, REGENCY HONEY travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of MULTIMAX immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

VICTOR EMPEROR, RICHCITY FORTUNE and SEA PEARL were sent for sampling.
