Acclaimed Light responded nicely to win going away 150m out after given a lovely ride better than midfield with cover from a middle draw. He was able to build on an unlucky fifth last time out but will find it harder with a return to Class Three. President Star kept on nicely for second tracking a swift pace in the box-seat. It was his best run to date and hopefully this is a sign of better things to come. Dionysus Collin kept on gamely for a placing after circling the field to sit one-off in second outside California Legend at the 700m. He continues to race well without winning. London Hall got going to finish a nonthreatening fourth after a patient ride fifth from the back. He's more effective at Sha Tin. Full Power made some ground near the inside following a midfield run. He's starting to show life signs in his past two of six starts. Royal Racer weakened over the final 150m after tracking the leader's fast fractions for half the race from gate 12.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four: (412) - TSUEN WAN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1800Meters

FULL POWER began only fairly.

Passing the 1700 Metres, HAPPY ROCKY raced tight outside HAPPY HOUR which was being steadied to obtain cover behind DIONYSUS COLLIN.

Passing the winning post on the first occasion, ROYAL RACER was left racing wide after being unable to obtain cover behind GALA NIGHT.

ROYAL RACER was then allowed to improve its position to race outside the lead after the 1200 Metres.

FULL POWER had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.

N Callan (ACCLAIMED LIGHT) was spoken to regarding using the whip over the concluding stages on a horse which was clearly winning.

Over the concluding stages, FULL POWER shifted out away from the heels of PRESIDENT STAR, resulting in CALIFORNIA LEGEND being very awkwardly placed outside FULL POWER.

B Shinn, the rider of FULL POWER, consequently straightened his mount over the concluding stages to prevent causing further hampering to CALIFORNIA LEGEND and because of this FULL POWER was not able to be ridden out to the end of the race.

When questioned, A Badel (DIONYSUS COLLIN) stated that he was able to obtain a good trailing position behind GALA NIGHT in the early stages and DIONYSUS COLLIN initially travelled comfortably.

He said when GALA NIGHT was taken out by ACCLAIMED LIGHT passing the 1100 Metres, GALA NIGHT was then steadied by its rider to obtain cover behind ACCLAIMED LIGHT.

He said this resulted in DIONYSUS COLLIN commencing to travel keenly and racing close to the heels of GALA NIGHT approaching and passing the 1000 Metres.

He said as GALA NIGHT was continuing to be steadied by its rider and given the manner in which DIONYSUS COLLIN was travelling, he elected to improve his position around that horse and obtain a forward position rather than continuing to be awkwardly placed behind GALA NIGHT.

He said he was also aware that C P POWER was racing close to the outside of DIONYSUS COLLIN and he did not want that horse being able to improve around his mount in the middle stages as he did not believe that C P POWER would take him into the race.

A veterinary inspection of C P POWER, which finished tailed out, immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its left front leg.

The performance of C P POWER was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, C P POWER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of CALIFORNIA LEGEND, GALA NIGHT and DYNASTA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

DIONYSUS COLLIN, ACCLAIMED LIGHT and PRESIDENT STAR were sent for sampling.
