Recap by phillip woo

Demons Rock won going away 150m out after enjoying a lovely run in the box-seat at only his second start on the surface. The writing was on the wall with seconds in his past two starts. Exponents ran on steadily after a one-off run in midfield to edge Tigerlad for second. He was well rated after placing off higher marks in his opening two runs this term. Tigerlad stuck on very well to make it close for second after a wide and without cover run in a prominent spot. It was his best run to date with a switch to the dirt. Corre Rapido out-finished favourite Pleasant Guy for fourth after covering a tonne of ground towards the rear. He's always a chance on this surface but is well-exposed. Pleasant Guy made some ground after getting hampered between runners 250m out travelling third last from a wide gate. He's not far off a bottom at this level. Punted late Grand Harbour had little left in the tank 100m out after tracking the uncontested leader Super Fun in the run with the claim well utilised. He's beyond his better days. Super Fun was stopping badly 50m out after building a two-length advantage 300m out. He had no excuse.
