Recap by phillip woo

Plunged late Little Thunder got up 100m out for the win after jumping nicely to sit behind the leader from gate five. He was well rated carrying a light weight after two earlier placings off higher marks. In his best run to date, Skyey Supreme came from midfield to grab second in the dying stages. He appears to have found his niche on the dirt here. Favourite Excel Delight closed well two from the right to fill a placing after making his run deep near the back from a wide gate. Striking Mr C kept on all right for fourth after leading from a wide gate. It was a pleasing effort with a return to Class Four. Star Superior made up heaps of ground late down the outside from the rear of the field to finish a non-threatening fifth. Punted late Wayfoong Charmer held his ground after a deep run without cover in midfield. The hard run took its toll in the end.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six: (626) - MANICOU HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

JOYFUL MOMENTS began awkwardly and lost ground.

After this, JOYFUL MOMENTS was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.

DOLLAR REWARD and SPLENDID TIMING were crowded for room on jumping between SUPREME PATROL and LITTLE THUNDER, both of which shifted ground.

M M JOHNNY and STRIKING MR C bumped on jumping.

After the 700 Metres, WAYFOONG CHARMER was left racing wide and without cover.

Approaching the 400 Metres, WAYFOONG CHARMER was directed out away from the heels of M M JOHNNY which lay out.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of DOLLAR REWARD, A Hamelin stated that he had ridden the horse in a barrier trial in the lead up to today's race and that barrier trial in his opinion was satisfactory.

He said he was able to obtain a good position on DOLLAR REWARD without having to make any use of the horse in the early stages and DOLLAR REWARD initially travelled very well.

He said he had to ride his mount along near the 700 Metres to prevent being crossed by WAYFOONG CHARMER and DOLLAR REWARD immediately came off the bridle.

He said he continued to ride the horse along, however, DOLLAR REWARD was only able to maintain its position until after the 400 Metres at which stage it commenced to give ground and then did not finish off the race.

A veterinary inspection of DOLLAR REWARD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

After the race, K Teetan (GOLDIE FLANKER) said the horse did not let down as well as it did last start when successful on a wet slow track.

A veterinary inspection of JOYFUL MOMENTS and M M JOHNNY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

EXCEL DELIGHT, LITTLE THUNDER and SKYEY SUPREME were sent for sampling.
