Recap by phillip woo

Reliable Team just wore down Butterfield over the final 50m for the win after getting asked for an effort 400m out travelling one-out, one-back. It was his third win in a terrific second campaign. Butterfield found one just too good after working to the lead 200m out from Solar Wai Wai following a pace-stalking run. The draw and big weight cost him the win. Helene Charisma was short of room at times while getting up; from near last for a placing. He's been racing consistently well this season. Favourite Columbus County stayed on a non-threatening fourth after being forced very wide coming to the final bend settling towards the rear in the run. Punted late Righteous Doctrine was getting going late down the outside after being ridden for luck at the rear of the field from a wide gate. Helena Baby woke up with an eye-catching second at Sha Tin last start but was rather one-paced when asked for a run travelling worse than midfield here.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (716) - COCHRANE HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1800Meters

MISSION TYCOON was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen right front cannon).

Before being allowed to race again, MISSION TYCOON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

INSAYSHABLE began awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, HELENE CHARISMA was steadied away from the heels of HELENA BABY which was taken out by RELIABLE TEAM which got its head on the side and shifted out despite the efforts of its rider.

From an outside barrier, RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, SUPER OASIS was awkwardly placed inside the heels of RELIABLE TEAM which was awkwardly placed inside BUTTERFIELD.

At the 400 Metres, COLUMBUS COUNTY was brushed by SUPER OASIS which shifted out.

After this, SUPER OASIS made the Home Turn awkwardly and shifted out, resulting in COLUMBUS COUNTY racing tight to the outside of that horse.

Near the 50 Metres, SOLAR WAI WAI and INSAYSHABLE raced in restricted room inside HELENE CHARISMA which shifted to the inside of BUTTERFIELD to obtain clear running.

Then approaching the finishing line, SOLAR WAI WAI raced tight inside INSAYSHABLE and passing the winning post was steadied away from the heels of that horse.

Consequently SOLAR WAI WAI was not ridden out over the concluding stages.

A veterinary inspection of SUPER OASIS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
