Fantastic Fabio handed up the lead to Target Finder, reclaimed the front 300m out and edged clear to ring up a sixth career win. He was a well-rated runner at this level. Tigerlad stuck on well for second settling one-out, one-back after being caught deep early on. He had benefitted from a positive run last month. Punted late, Regency Gem ran on from midfield to fill a placing. The trip was too short. Kwai Chung Elite weaved a run from toward the rear to fill the frame. It was a positive effort first-up this season. Wonder Brahma made some ground without menacing from behind midfield. It was a better effort after having already had three earlier runs this term. Favourite Fox Cheunger came up flat inside the last 100m following a one-off run in midfield. He had no excuse and is likely on his mark following a win last start. Specked late, Green Envy ran on without threatening from the rear of the field. It was always going to be a task from gate 12.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (103) - WAN CHAI GAP HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters

KWAI CHUNG ELITE got its head up on jumping and began awkwardly and shortly after the start was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover from a wide barrier.

WONDER BRAHMA began only fairly.

REGENCY GEM and RED ZOFFANY bumped at the start.

REGENCY GEM then became unbalanced after being crowded for room between RED ZOFFANY and ROCHFORD which began awkwardly and shifted out.

TIGERLAD shifted out at the start and bumped FOX CHEUNGER.

From the outside barriers, GREEN ENVY and KA YING BRILLIANCE were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.

Approaching the 1100 Metres, REGENCY GEM shifted out and made contact with RED ZOFFANY.

Apprentice C Wong (ROCHFORD) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the 900 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of REGENCY GEM, causing that horse to be unnecessarily hampered and to lose the running to which it was rightfully entitled.

Apprentice Wong was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Sunday, 1 November 2020 and to expire on Thursday, 5 November 2020 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).

Apprentice K H Chan (RED ZOFFANY) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the 900 Metres he directed his mount inwards when not clear of THE ONE, resulting in that horse being severely checked and being taken in across the rightful running of WONDER BRAHMA which was also severely checked.

GREEN ENVY, which was following THE ONE, got its head up when being checked away from the heels of that horse and shifted out, resulting in KA YING BRILLIANCE being taken wider.

KWAI CHUNG ELITE was also inconvenienced in consequence.

After being ridden along, RED ZOFFANY got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of FOX CHEUNGER approaching the 700 Metres.

After the 700 Metres, GREEN ENVY travelled keenly when racing behind THE ONE.

Passing the 150 Metres, ROCHFORD momentarily raced in restricted room inside TARGET FINDER which shifted in before being corrected.

A Hamelin (GREEN ENVY) was reminded to ensure that he does not raise his whip arm above the height of his shoulder.

FOX CHEUNGER, FANTASTIC FABIO and TIGERLAD were sent for sampling.
