Recap by phillip woo

Delightful Laos closed well to grab victory 50m out after a rail run in midfield despite a rise in class. He's really hit a purple patch of form to win two of his past three starts over this Valley trip and can win again. Plunged late, The Rock ran on well from behind midfield to make it close on the wire. He capable but not reliable. Star Shine ran on steadily to finish a close third following a one-off run outside the winner. He's pretty honest. Sunshine Warrior got going late to finish a non-threatening fourth. He got too far back in the run from a tricky gate. Magnificent grudgingly gave way over the final 100m after assuming the lead 250m out following a pace-stalking run outside Reel Bizzy from a wide gate. General's Delight made up heaps of ground late down the outside after settling second last following a tardy break. He might be looking for a longer trip. Solar Wai Wai had his chance following a rail run in midfield. He does appear from his past few runs to be on or close to his mark. Reel Bizzy had nothing left in the tank over the final 150m after leading from gate five. The faster tempo in a higher grade here took its toll.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (381) - CHATER HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1650Meters

DELIGHTFUL LAOS began awkwardly, made contact with the outside gate and became unbalanced.

GENERAL'S DELIGHT was slow to begin.

SUNSHINE WARRIOR began only fairly and then after failing to muster speed soon after the start was shifted across to race on the rail.

From the outside barrier, INVINCIBLE MISSILE was steadied in the early stages and shifted in across behind runners.

After travelling a short distance, THE ROCK was awkwardly placed outside STAR SHINE which was taken out slightly by REEL BIZZY.

Near the 1100 Metres, GENERAL'S DELIGHT commenced to race keenly and was checked away from the heels of SUNSHINE WARRIOR.

SUNSHINE WARRIOR was held up for clear running from approaching the 200 Metres until after passing the 150 Metres where it was directed to the inside of the heels of DELIGHTFUL LAOS after being disappointed for running between BEAR AGAIN and DELIGHTFUL LAOS which shifted out slightly under pressure.

At the 100 Metres, ALPHA HEDGE was steadied away from the heels of THE ROCK which shifted in under pressure.

GENERAL'S DELIGHT was inclined to lay in under pressure in the Straight.

A veterinary inspection of REEL BIZZY, BEAR AGAIN and INVINCIBLE MISSILE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
