Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Compassion Spirit had enough left in the tank to hold off late-plunged Universal Go Go after hitting the front 200m out following a one-off run behind midfield. He was a Class Three horse in Class Four. Universal Go Go was given the perfect ride one-off in midfield but found one better on the day. He's always a chance over this trip and fitter for two starts. Fortune Hero had to settle for third after moving to the front 300m out following a pace-stalking run outside Kowloon East Star from a middle draw. It was an improved effect second-up over his favourite course and distance. Fortune Carrier ran on steadily three from the right to fill the frame after taking until the 600m to slot midfield with cover from a wide draw. It was another honest effort. Team Goodluck plugged on one-paced after a prominent run. It was a better run second-up but he's still a work in progress. Telecom Rocket ran on without menacing settling second last after missing the kick. He cost himself at the start but it was a better run nonetheless with a return to Class Four. Winwin Thirtythree was short of room at times in the stretch run with a bid from towards the rear. He's mixing his form and prefer him in Class Five.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (180) - KYOTO HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

As the start was effected, TELECOM ROCKET, which was fractious in the barriers, lifted its front feet off the ground and consequently was slow to begin.

FORTUNE HERO shifted out at the start and bumped COMPASSION SPIRIT which became unbalanced when crowded for room inside FORTUNE CARRIER which shifted in.

After bumping with COMPASSION SPIRIT, FORTUNE CARRIER shifted out and inconvenienced KOWLOON EAST STAR.

After travelling a short distance, TELECOM CHEETAH shifted in and brushed the hindquarters of PANZERSCHRECK.

Near the 1150 Metres, TELECOM CHEETAH was steadied away from the heels of NOIR RIDER (K Teetan) which when being ridden along shifted in.

K Teetan was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

Passing the 500 Metres, COMPASSION SPIRIT was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FORTUNE CARRIER which itself was racing close to the heels of TEAM GOODLUCK.

Passing the 300 Metres, FORTUNE CARRIER got its head on the side and lay in towards the heels of TEAM GOODLUCK, resulting in FORTUNE CARRIER being awkwardly placed outside that horse.

Close to the finishing line, WINWIN THIRTYTHREE was steadied when disappointed for running between FORTUNE HERO and TEAM GOODLUCK which shifted in under pressure.

Because of this, WINWIN THIRYTHREE was not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race.

For the majority of the race, VALIANT ELEGANCE travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, NOIR RIDER was noted to be making an abnormal breathing noise.

An endoscopic examination of NOIR RIDER found that horse to be a "roarer??and to have a substantial amount of mucus in its trachea.

A veterinary inspection of VALIANT ELEGANCE immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer??which had previously been reported.

COMPASSION SPIRIT and UNIVERSAL GO GO were sent for sampling.
