Racing Incident Report
Race Nine: (509) - DURHAM HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
MEANINGFUL STAR was withdrawn on 15.3.22 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore).
Before being allowed to race again, MEANINGFUL STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
On arrival at the Start, it was noted that SUNSHINE WARRIOR had blood in the mouth.
SUNSHINE WARRIOR was examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be suitable to race.
LEAP OF FAITH began awkwardly and then was crowded for room between THE ANOMALY and GALLANT CROWN which shifted out.
SUNSHINE WARRIOR was slow to begin.
EVERYONE'S DELIGHT and PALACE PAL bumped at the start.
After this, PALACE PAL was steadied to obtain cover from the outside barrier.
TURIN REDSTAR was also steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, JUMBO FORTUNE was checked away from the heels of GALLANT CROWN.
Near the 1250 Metres, LEAP OF FAITH got its head up when racing close to the heels of TIANCHI MONSTER.
At the entrance to the Straight, JUMBO FORTUNE was shifted out away from the heels of GALLANT CROWN.
Passing the 300 Metres, THE ANOMALY was directed to the inside of EVERYONE'S DELIGHT to obtain clear running.
THE ANOMALY then shifted in under pressure and near the 200 Metres momentarily crowded TIANCHI MONSTER.
THE ANOMALY was then directed out to relieve the crowding.
LEAP OF FAITH lay out under pressure approaching and passing the 100 Metres.
A veterinary inspection of JUMBO FORTUNE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GALLANT CROWN, RED MAJESTY and EVERYONE'S DELIGHT were sent for sampling.
GENERAL:

12 March 2022 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Race 10 (500) The Stewards tonight interviewed Mr K W Lui, the trainer of HIGHLAND FORTUNE, which competed in this race.
Mr Lui advised that HIGHLAND FORTUNE would be subjected to a number of veterinary examinations including undergoing bone scanning.
Mr Lui was informed that once the Stewards receive the results of those veterinary examinations, a decision would be made on HIGHLAND FORTUNE's immediate racing future.

Racing Laboratory tests of WILL POWER, RED DESERT, ENJOYING, BUTTERFIELD, EL VALIENTE, MISSION BRAVO, BLOTTING PAPER, TELECOM MISSILE, NOBLE BOYZ, SALUTATION, SMILING COLLECTOR, HAPPY FOREVER, SUNSHINE LEGENDARY, FLYING SEASON, CHEVAL VALIANT, FREE FOAL, STAR CONTACT, LEADING FORTUNE, BEAUTY LIVE, FLYING ACE, ROCK YA HEART, GALAXY WITNESS and SUPER DYNAMITE (6.3.22) proved negative.

Red Majesty just wore down long-time leader Everyone's Delight after a pace-stalking run from a middle draw to ring up a second straight win over this Valley trip and fourth from nine starts this term. Everyone's Delight wouldn't go down without a fight after rounding the final bend two lengths on top after clearing to lead 1,350m out from gate nine carrying top weight. Favourite Gallant Crown had his chance but found a couple too good after a prominent run. It was another honest effort. Sensationally backed, The Anomaly just held his ground after a dream run in the box-seat. He just hasn't been able to take his game to a new level following a Class Four win in October. Jumbo Fortune ran on without menacing after a one-off trip in midfield. It wasn't a bad run carrying top weight with a step up to a mile. Leap Of Faith made a mild bid after travelling four back along the fence following a sluggish start. He wasn't suited by the tempo of the race but does appear from his past three runs to be on his mark following a win. Tianchi Monster just held his ground after a rails run in midfield. He requires a longer trip. Sunshine Warrior never landed a blow from the back. He requires a stronger pace.
