Recap by phillip woo

Punted late, E Legend was too good after moving to the front from More Than Enough 300m out following a pace-stalking run for a first win at his sixth start. The writing was on the wall last start and he can win again. Red Impact found one too good after getting a lovely run in the box-seat from gate one. He's honest but doesn't have much upside off his current mark. Baby kept on well for a placing after getting caught wide without cover until slotting one-off better than midfield at the 1,200m. He's close to a win after filling the frame in three of his past four starts. Fast Pace came up one-paced after a handy run along the fence. He wasn't quite as sharp on this occasion but is in the right grade again. Kyrus Unicorn ran on reasonably well after settling one-off behind midfield from a wide draw. He should be able to find his mark at this level. Eligere just held his ground after a one-off trip in midfield. He's not a miler. Favourite HK Dragon ran on without menacing near the inside after making his run third last from the widest draw. He didn't get a race run to suit carrying a few pounds more following a win. More Than Enough knocked up 100m out after getting his own way in front.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six: (581) - MORRISON HILL HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters

SOARING TOWER began only fairly and then was inconvenienced by BABY which shifted out.

LAPUTA shifted in on jumping and was awkwardly placed outside the heels of ELIGERE.

LAPUTA was then steadied a short distance after the start to obtain cover after racing tight between ELIGERE and UNIVERSAL GO GO which shifted in.

From the outside barriers, UNIVERSAL GO GO, KYRUS UNICORN, SMART PATCH and HK DRAGON were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Passing the 1400 Metres, HK DRAGON was awkwardly placed close to the heels of UNIVERSAL GO GO.

J Moreira (FAST PACE) dropped his whip rounding the Home Turn.

Passing the 300 Metres, HK DRAGON shifted in away from the heels of ELIGERE.

Passing the 250 Metres, LAPUTA was directed to the inside of SOARING TOWER to obtain clear running.

After the race, B Shinn reported that as far out as the 1200 Metres UNIVERSAL GO GO was under pressure to hold its position.

He said the horse did not travel well at any stage of the race and passing the 600 Metres he had to place UNIVERSAL GO GO under extreme pressure, however, the horse would not respond to his riding and gave ground noticeably in the Home Straight to finish at the rear of the field.

A veterinary inspection of UNIVERSAL GO GO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of UNIVERSAL GO GO, a last start winner and which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, UNIVERSAL GO GO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of MORE THAN ENOUGH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

HK DRAGON, E LEGEND and RED IMPACT were sent for sampling.
