Recap by phillip woo

The well-backed Nimble Nimbus shot clear after hitting the front near the 300m following a box-seat run for a second win from 11 starts. He seemed to thrive on the wet ground. Favourite Amazing News just edged Regency Master for second without menacing the winner after a one-off trip in midfield. He's a non-winner in 21 starts but has been threatening in his past three starts. Regency Master came from near last along the fence to nearly take second. It was his best run of the campaign. Happy Jai Jai stayed on reasonably well for fourth after a rails run in midfield. He has remained competitive in back-to-back runs on wet tracks after three successive wins on faster going. Baby just held his ground to finish a distant fifth after a one-out, one-back run. He's better suited on top of the ground. Happy Angel made some ground down the outside without threatening from towards the rear. HK Dragon's move from the 500m after a wide run with cover behind midfield did not last long. He didn't seem to enjoy the wet going. Both Sixth Generation and Faithful Trinity faded after keeping the pace honest up front.
