Plunged late to jump favourite, Trader took control 200m out after getting a lovely run in the box seat for a third career win. He relished the downgrade with a return to the dirt and a move to 10-pound claimer Angus Chung Yik-lai. Youthful Deal ran on well after a rails run in midfield to grab second. It was a good effort second up this season trying the dirt for the first time and he's a winner waiting to happen. Yellowfin finished a distant third after stalking the speed from a tricky gate. It was another honest effort despite a return to the dirt. Miracles found a few too good after travelling one off in midfield. He's given a good sight in both runs on the dirt this term. Joyful Genius was doing some nice work late after settling one from the rear from gate 12. He's honest on either surface. Son Pak Fu was stopping 100m out after working hard to lead 900m out from a tricky gate. It wasn't a bad effort trying the dirt for the first time but he's still a work in progress. Prosecco came up one paced after a wide trip behind midfield. He had an excuse. Bell Of Happiness was withdrawn at the gate by order of the stewards acting on vet advice.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six: (126) - THE TSUEN WAN NEW TOWN 60TH ANNIVERSARY CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1200Meters

L Ferraris (JOYFUL GENIUS) was fined the sum of $7,500 for weighing in 3 lbs over the horse's allocated weight.

After being loaded into the barriers, BELL OF HAPPINESS became fractious, reared and initially got its left front leg into the adjoining stall occupied by DOUBLE SHOW.

DOUBLE SHOW was then removed from the barriers.

BELL OF HAPPINESS then got both front legs over into the adjoining stall and remained cast for some time before being able to be removed from the barriers.

Acting on veterinary advice that BELL OF HAPPINESS was not suitable to race, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.

Before being allowed to race again, BELL OF HAPPINESS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

After being removed from the barriers, DOUBLE SHOW was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said that in his opinion the horse was suitable to race.

When BELL OF HAPPINESS was being removed from the barriers, YOUTHFUL DEAL became fractious and reared and was also removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said that in his opinion the horse was suitable to race.

PROSECCO lost ground on jumping when crowded for room between GOLDEN FAIRY and YELLOWFIN, both of which shifted ground.

DOUBLE SHOW began awkwardly and then despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to muster speed.

Shortly after the start, HOODABUTTA and GOLDEN FAIRY bumped.

From the outside barrier, JOYFUL GENIUS was steadied on jumping and shifted across behind runners to obtain covers.

Approaching the 900 Metres, DOUBLE SHOW shifted in towards the rail and became unbalanced of its own accord.

After the 700 Metres, PROSECCO was left racing wide and without cover.

Passing the 400 Metres, PROUD DRAGON was momentarily steadied away from the heels of TRADER which shifted out.

A veterinary inspection of DOUBLE SHOW immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

TRADER and YOUTHFUL DEAL were sent for sampling.
