Racing Incident Report
Race Four: (191) - KOWLOON BAY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
CHARMANDER began only fairly.
DRAGON ADMIRAL was crowded for room on jumping between YO BEAUTY and BEAUTY TYCOON, both of which shifted ground.
LUCKY ARCHANGEL shifted out at the start and bumped STRADALE.
STRADALE was then steadied to obtain cover.
After this, LUCKY ARCHANGEL was ridden along, however, failed to muster speed and passing the 1100 Metres was steadied to obtain a position closer to the rail.
From the outside barrier, NICCONI COUNTY was steadied on jumping and shifted across behind runners.
Making the turn near the 1050 Metres, CLASSIC POSH momentarily raced tight inside SERGEANT PEPPER which shifted in before being directed out to relieve the tightening.
After this, CLASSIC POSH was steadied to obtain cover behind BEAUTY TYCOON.
After the 700 Metres, BEAUTY TYCOON commenced to travel keenly and was steadied away from the heels of SERGEANT PEPPER for some distance.
Making the turn after the 600 Metres, CHARMANDER shifted out and bumped CLASSIC POSH.
STRADALE and NICCONI COUNTY also bumped making the turn after the 600 Metres.
Approaching the 200 Metres, CHARMANDER was shifted to the inside of DRAGON ADMIRAL as that horse commenced to shift out to obtain clear running.
Passing the 200 Metres, CLASSIC POSH was steadied away from the heels of DRAGON ADMIRAL (K C Leung) which continued to shift out to obtain clear running.
K C Leung was reprimanded and told to ensure that he exercises more care than he did on this occasion when shifting ground.
Throughout the race, IGNITING travelled wide and without cover.
BEAUTY TYCOON and YO BEAUTY were sent for sampling.

Firming favourite Beauty Tycoon took control 100m out despite over-racing in the one-one position to ring up a second win over this Valley trip from his past three starts. He will remain in Class Three and can win again. Yo Beauty gave way after getting his own way in front. It was another honest performance. Igniting was eating up the ground late to make it close for second after his wide-without-cover trip in midfield. He is always a chance over this course and distance. Nicconi County was doing his best work late to nearly place after a patient ride second last from gate 10. It was another solid effort over his preferred Valley 1,200m. Lucky Archangel made ground late down the outside after making his run two from the rear to pick up a minor cheque without menacing the top four. Once again, he was not up to the challenge in this grade after winning in Class Four. Sergeant Pepper retreated over the last 100m after his pace-stalking run. He does not get the trip, and he is more effective in Class Four. Charmander came up flat after his rail run in midfield. He is still acclimatising.
