Racing Incident Report
Race Five: (794) - NINEPIN GROUP HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
SIMPLE HEDGE was slow to begin.
SPECIAL HEDGE jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
From wide barriers, JUNE PLANET and SPEEDSTAR were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 1200 Metres, SPECIAL HEDGE improved to the inside of MASTER HERO when that runner was steadied.
As a result, SPECIAL HEDGE, which was having its first race start, shifted in and bumped SIMPLE HEDGE and then commenced to race ungenerously for some distance thereafter when it continued to race tight to the inside of MASTER HERO.
Making the turn near the 800 Metres, SPECIAL HEDGE shifted out and away from EXCELLENT DADDY and bumped MASTER HERO.
Near the 300 Metres, SPEEDSTAR was awkwardly placed behind JUNE PLANET when that runner was shifted to the outside of MASTER HERO to obtain clear running.
YOUNG HORIZON raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection of YOUNG HORIZON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SIMPLE HEDGE and JUNE PLANET were sent for sampling.

After peeling out for a clear run near the 300m following his signature slow start, favourite Simple Hedge responded nicely to salute going away 200m out for a second win from five starts. June Planet ran on strongly to finish a clear-cut second after fading back to last from gate 11. He's racing very well without winning. Eternal Bloom stayed on nicely to just take third after a one-out, one-back run. He relished a return to Class Four but the big weight took its toll. Master Hero ran on nicely to just miss a placing after a wide trip with cover from behind midfield. He's building towards a win following a downgrade. Speedstar made good ground late after settling second last from gate 12. It was his best run from three starts in this grade following a Class Five win. Plunged late, Dragon Star made a mild bid after a wide run with cover travelling midfield from gate 13. He's shown shades of progress in his past four starts but is still learning the ropes. Young Horizon faded over the final 150m after getting posted wide without cover chasing the speed from a wide draw. He had an excuse.
