Racing Incident Report
Race Nine: (64) - JINAN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
On arrival at the Start, it was noted that BEATO had blood in its mouth.
BEATO was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
KARMA and PERFETTO were slow to begin.
CAPTAIN HURRICANE and LUCKY PLANET jumped awkwardly and then bumped together.
Near the 1200 Metres, PERFETTO was eased to avoid the heels of KARMA which, whilst shifting in, was also taken in by DIVINE ERA (K C Leung) before that horse was straightened.
K C Leung was advised to exercise more care.
Near the 1000 Metres, DIVINE ERA, which was pulling hard, shifted out abruptly, hampering GOLDEN BULL by forcing that horse wider.
DIVINE ERA then raced wide and without cover from the 900 Metres.
The Stewards were satisfied that the racing manners of DIVINE ERA were the main contributor to this particular incident, therefore no further action was taken.
Passing the 150 Metres, BEATO, which was making ground, had some difficulty obtaining clear running when racing in restricted room between DIVINE ERA and GOLDEN BULL.
After the race, H Bentley (HOLY LAKE) reported that from a wide barrier he was obliged to ride his mount back in the field, however, at no stage during the event did it travel comfortably.
A veterinary inspection of HOLY LAKE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

EVER BLESSING, KARMA and ARIEL were sent for sampling.

Karma weaved a run to win going away 100m out after a patient ride four from the rear to remain perfect in two 1,400m rides under Vincent Ho Chak-yiu from his past three starts. He's pretty smart and can win again up in grade carrying a lighter weight. Ariel did everything right but get the win after hitting the front 250m out following a one-out, oneback run from a wide draw. He has been racing well without winning over this trip. Divine Era ran on nicely from behind midfield to win a photo finish for third. He was able to build on a near win on opening day. Beato jumped out of his skin late with two wider out to just miss a placing after making his run at the rear from gate 14. He's a winner waiting to happen. Punted late Golden Bull just missed the frame after a wide without cover run from behind midfield. He's run well both times in defeat this season. Perfetto ran on without threatening down the outside after a patient ride two from the rear. He's disappointed in three consecutive starts. Ever Blessing didn't find much when push came to shove after a perfect run. The step up to 1,400m backfired after a placing last start over 1,200m.
