Recap by phillip woo

Alloy King travelled one off the fence in midfield and responded nicely to win by two lengths, posting his fifth victory and fourth C&D success. He relished returning to Happy Valley after showing little at Sha Tin. Happily Friends grudgingly gave way after dictating the tempo from gate one. He has run well for seconds in both of his Happy Valley sprints this term and could ring up a win soon. Favourite Modest Gentleman was a non-threatening third after getting all the favours fourth on the rail. He is in the right grade and should come on for the run. Valhalla received a patient ride second last from barrier 12 and ran on well down the outside to finish fourth. He should be able to record another victory after finding the line well in his two starts following his C&D win. Wellbacked Brilliant Pioneer finished the next best after making his move from towards the rear and switching off heels 100m out. It was a pleasing effort for his new trainer, Ricky Yiu Poon-fai. Starry Night settled worse than midfield after his tardy beginning and ran on without threatening the placegetters. Out Class Act went amiss in the early stages.
