Recap by phillip woo

Punted late, Never Too Soon travelled on the rail in midfield before getting up along the inside to win going away 100m out. His 15 starts last term produced only two thirds, but he was well rated and appreciated his cheek pieces, hood and tongue tie coming off. Wonder Kit found one too good after his perfect run on the fence. It was another honest performance. Grateful Heart took the short route home to get up for third after making his run two from the rear. It was an improved effort. Capital Delight ran on late to finish fourth without threatening the top three after Hugh Bowman rode him patiently second last from gate 10. It was not a bad effort. Beauty Glory was one-paced after his prominent run. He has produced mixed results in his three starts this term. Happy Golf ran on from worse than midfield without threatening the placegetters. He looks like he wants a longer trip. Phoenix Light produced a one-paced finish after getting posted wide. He usually comes on with racing. Dragon's Luck did not offer much in the home straight after clearing to the lead 900m out. The Happy Valley experiment backfired.
