Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Quantum Patch settled four from the rear and quickened nicely down the outside to run up his first Hong Kong win on his eighth local start. He was fitter following his pleasing fifth first up this season. There is likely more to come from him. Punted late, E Legend travelled in the box seat and poked his head in front 250m before Quantum Patch ran him down. He rarely produces a bad run over this Happy Valley trip. Storm Legend bided his time two from the rear and finished well near the inside to fill a placing. It was the best of his four efforts this term. Foolish Heart stayed on well for fourth after a one-out, one-back run. He is naturally coming to hand. Prime Minister travelled on the fence in midfield, from where he ran on steadily to finish the next best. His heavy weight took its toll. Outgate was on his tippy toes 100m out after chasing the genuine pace of All Is Good. He has not been good enough in his past two starts following his October victory. Maldives ran on from towards the rear without threatening the placegetters. It was a typical effort.
