Horse No 1 SWEET ENCOUNTER (G426) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 BRAVEHEARTS (H389) A Hamelin Crowded shortly after the start.
Horse No 3 UNBELIEVABLE (J130) K C Leung Near the 200 Metres was bumped and became unbalanced.
After the race, K C Leung reported that his mount, which was having its first race start in Hong Kong, would derive benefit from today's performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 HUGE WAVE (J197) K De Melo Jumped only fairly and then was crowded shortly after the start.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 10 EIGHTEEN CARAT (J104) A Badel Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by BRAVEHEARTS which was taken in by HOLY LAKE.
Near the 200 Metres was bumped and became unbalanced.

Shifted out and away from SILVER UP near the 250 Metres.

Near the 300 Metres became held up behind HOLY LAKE and was then shifted to the outside of HOLY LAKE and SOLEIL FIGHTER to secure clear running approaching the 200 Metres.
Horse No 13 ZOOM BOOM (G131) Y L Chung From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Held up for clear running on the Home Turn.
Approaching the 200 Metres was held up for clear running when crowded between UNBELIEVABLE and EIGHTEEN CARAT which shifted out.
In this incident, ZOOM BOOM was bumped and became unbalanced.
Horse No 14 I KEEP WINNING (H400) H T Mo A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No THE HEIR (H459) L Hewitson Withdrawn on 11.2.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter BOURBONAIRE.
Before being allowed to race again, THE HEIR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Well-backed California Voce got the gaps when required along the inside to come near last at the top of the straight to take control 120m out for a first win at his 11th local start. Sweet Encounter ran on well with three wider out for second after making his run five back and one off the fence from gate 13. He's holding his condition well. Master Of Fortune found a couple too good after hitting the lead 250m out following a box-seat run. He has honest 1,600m form. Punted late Bourbonaire grudgingly gave way to just hold fourth after dictating the run from gate 12. It was one of his better runs this term. Zoom Boom came from last and near the inside to just miss the frame. He's not easy to get right. Eighteen Carat made headway late to finish next best after biding his time three from the rear. It was a better effort at his second local start. Fancied late in betting Soleil Fighter wasn't beaten overly far after a wide without cover run from better than midfield. He went okay on his first Hong Kong run.
