Race Four : (688) - HEREFORD HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 EXUBERANT (E282) C L Chau Jumped only fairly.
Lay in under pressure in the Home Straight.
Horse No 4 EXCEL WONGCHOY (J194) C Y Ho Shortly after the start was bumped by SO AWESOME which shifted in.
From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 200 Metres the whip of C Y Ho was knocked from his grasp by the whip of C L Chau, rider of EXUBERANT.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 SCOTCH TYCOON (G088) L Ferraris Shortly after the start was bumped by AMAZING ACE which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 ERNEST FEELING (E209) A Hamelin Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
After the race, A Hamelin reported that he was given no specific instructions other than to settle his mount where comfortable.
He said tonight ERNEST FEELING jumped well and as a result he elected to continue to ride forward in an attempt to take advantage of his mount's good start.
Horse No 8 SWEET SMILE (J282) H Bowman Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 9 SKY PROPHET (J095) K Teetan From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 10 LEAN MASTER (H134) H Bentley Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 SPEEDY CHARIOT (H193) A Atzeni Bumped at the start.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position.
Horse No 12 SO AWESOME (D258) L Hewitson Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Odds-on favourite Lean Master just held off Scotch Tycoon after dictating the pace from gate one for a second win this season and first over the Valley 1,200m. He deserved that after giving a good sight to place in two prior starts. Scotch Tycoon found one too good after getting a prominent run on the fence. It was a much better effort on his recent form following throat surgery. Amazing Ace stayed on third best without threatening the top two after a handy run one off the fence. He has produced mixed results in his six starts but has now placed third on two occasions. Flying Wrote gradually faded after stalking the pace. He has shown progress from one run to the next from his two starts. Sweet Smile made a mild bid from midfield after settling on the rail. It was a better effort at his second career start. Sky Prophet made good late ground near the inside after making his run at the rear from gate 12. It was a good run on what was a biased track. Both Speedy Chariot and Exuberant ran on without threatening travelling among the backmarkers.
