Recap by phillip woo

Romantic Laos produced a perfectly timed run to overhaul Red Hare King for a second Valley mile win this term. He was able to build on a near win last start. Red Hare King was collared in deep stretch after working forward to lead 1,150m out from gate 12. He continues to race very well in his past three starts following a win. Ivy League ran on nicely along the inside to just miss the runner-up spot following a patient ride two from the rear. He is holding his condition well following a win two runs ago. Early favourite Sweet Briar just plodded when asked for more after chasing the speed one off the rail from a tricky gate. It was another honest performance. Jumbo Legend made up good ground late near the outside after making his run at the rear of the field from gate 10. It was an OK effort in a higher grade following a last-start win. Silver Up just plodded after settling on the rail in midfield. He couldn't turn his form up a notch for his new trainer. Giddy Up made a mild bid after settling on the rail behind midfield. He has produced mixed results in three starts following a switch to the Valley 1,650m.
