Recap by phillip woo

Natural High led from gate four and kept finding after turning three lengths on top for an easy win. It was his maiden success but he had been knocking on the door in three consecutive course and distance runs. Chill Kaka ran on nicely near the inside for second after making his run at the rear from gate five. He relished a return to the surface of a debut third from three earlier runs. Fortune Warrior stayed on well for third after tracking the leader on the fence from gate nine. He was able to back up a last-start win carrying more weight. Spicy Standard kept on well for fourth after a prominent run wide without cover from gate 12. It was a much-improved effort. Favourite Vulcanus ran on without threatening after turning three from the rear. He couldn't add to a win and three consecutive second in four prior runs. Robot Knight just plodded after slotting one off in third from gate 11. Looks Outstanding only plodded when asked for an effort following a one-off trip from midfield. He was only having his second start after a strong debut.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five : (489) - NGA TSIN WAI HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 OFFROAD MASTER (J283) M Chadwick When questioned, M Chadwick stated that his mount travelled fairly in the early stages.

He said near the 600 Metres he placed OFFROAD MASTER under pressure but it did not respond to his riding and in the Home Straight he eased it down when he felt that there may be something amiss with his mount.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg and also to have bled from both nostrils.

Before being allowed to race again, OFFROAD MASTER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.

Horse No 2 FORTUNE WARRIOR (H229) K Teetan Shifted in on jumping and was bumped.

Horse No 3 JOLLY COMPANION (H454) J Orman On jumping made contact with the left side of its barrier, became unbalanced and lost ground.

After the event, J Orman explained that when his mount jumped away awkwardly it settled further back than what had been intended.

Horse No 4 JUDY'S GREAT (J016) E C W Wong Jumped only fairly and then was bumped by VULCANUS which shifted out, resulting in JUDY'S GREAT becoming unbalanced.

After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on JUDY'S GREAT at the request of Trainer C S Shum.

The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, JUDY'S GREAT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
