Recap by phillip woo
Divano sat third with cover one off the fence and took control 200m out for a third win and first over 1,400m, despite a rise in class, from 10 starts this term. Patch Of Theta stayed on well for second after recovering from a slow start to travel fourth on the fence. It was a better performance on his past two with a drop back in class. Taj Dragon ran on well for third from better than midfield. It was a return to form on his return to his favourite 1,400m. Mugen ran on steadily for fourth after a rails run from midfield. He was able to back up an improved fourth last start. Beauty Joy came from last to finish next best carrying top weight. It was another honest performance. Mr Ascendency ran on without threatening from behind midfield. Invincible Sage faded in the stretch drive after proving a real thorn in the side of leader Drombeg Banner. It wasn't a well-judged ride by apprentice Britney Wong. Rubylot never landed a blow from near the rear.
