Race Six : (616) - HEATHER HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 HAPPY DAILY (E294) M Chadwick Bumped at the start.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 SKY VINO (K054) H Bowman On jumping shifted in and made contact with HAPPY DAILY.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 MIDORI FUJI (J432) K Teetan From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 ACE WAR (J509) J Orman Shifted out abruptly at the start and was bumped.
After the event J Orman stated that from his inside barrier he was able to hold a handy position.
He said the only excuse he could offer for the horse's performance was that it may be better suited by being ridden more conservatively in the early stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 SMART CITY (J213) M F Poon Bumped at the start.
Horse No 7 WAH MAY WAI WAI (J193) Y L Chung Jumped only fairly and then was crowded between SMILING EMPEROR and ACE WAR which shifted out abruptly.
After the event Y L Chung stated that after being crowded at the start his mount settled further back in the field than what had been intended.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 ORIENTAL SURPRISE (K028) B Thompson Bumped at the start.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 10 CONFRINGO (J322) A Atzeni From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the event A Atzeni stated that from the 800 Metres he endeavoured to ride his mount forward but when TO INFINITY shifted out he was taken wider.
He said after this CONFRINGO was unable to continue with its forward move and weakened in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 COURIER MAGIC (H290) A Badel Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between SMART CITY and ORIENTAL SURPRISE, both of which shifted ground.
In the middle stages raced keenly.
After the event A Badel stated that his mount was unable to quicken when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

After quickening nicely through the centre to lead 50m out following a patient ride fourth last from gate nine, Happy Daily just held off the late surge of Midori Fuji for a sixth win from 56 starts. He deserved that after finishing in the mix in four of five previous runs. Midori Fuji came from near last to make it close on the wire. He's a winner waiting to happen after finishing in the mix four times following a downgrade. Favourite Sky Vino grudgingly gave way after dictating the run from gate 10. He has given a cheeky performance three times from outside draws following a win. Punted late, Smart City ran on steadily for fourth after a one-off trip from midfield. He tends to mix his form. Smiling Emperor kept on all right for fifth after sitting near the speed three wide without cover. Firefoot was on his tippy toes 100m out after chasing the leader one off from gate eight. He couldn't back up a third last start over a mile trip. To Infinity ran on without threatening after making his run wide towards the rear. Courier Magic had his chance but only produced a grinding effort following a rails run from behind midfield.
