Racing Incident Report
Race Four : (633) - YEONGCHEON HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 YEE CHEONG SPIRIT (H379) Z Purton Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with LUCKY ARCHANGEL.
After the event Z Purton reported that his mount finished the race off only fairly and he had some concern with its action in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Before being allowed to race again, YEE CHEONG SPIRIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 2 EVERSTAR (K264) J Orman Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 HAPPY TRIO (G244) H Bentley Near the 800 Metres went amiss when it sustained an injury to its left front leg and was retired from the event.
Samples were taken from the horse.
Horse No 4 LUCKY ARCHANGEL (E385) M F Poon Bumped on jumping.
Noted to have lost its left hind plate after the race.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 NEBRASKAN (J304) H Bowman Bumped near the 300 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 METAL KING (K135) K C Leung Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 7 SPICY SPANGLE (J087) A Hamelin Near the 300 Metres shifted out and made contact with NEBRASKAN when improving into a narrow run between NEBRASKAN and COLONEL.
Horse No 8 RICH HORSE (J191) K Teetan Bumped on jumping.
Near the 800 Metres shifted out away from HAPPY TRIO.
Horse No 10 SUPER SICARIO (K306) K De Melo Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Approaching the 1000 Metres shifted in and brushed the running rail when racing ungenerously.
Near the 800 Metres was checked to avoid HAPPY TRIO when that horse went amiss.
After the 300 Metres was eased to avoid KA YING POWER.
Horse No 11 COSMO NAVIGATOR (H156) M Chadwick From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Trainer C W Chang confirmed the instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages to offset the wide barrier.
Horse No 12 KA YING POWER (H169) M L Yeung Near the 800 Metres was checked to avoid HAPPY TRIO when that horse went amiss.

Everstar settled prominently and took control 150m out for a first win at his seventh local start. The writing was on the wall after a close fourth last start. Veteran Lucky Archangel ran on well for second after making his run better than midfield from gate six. He's close to an eighth career win with placings in back-to-back runs. Favourite Nebraskan had to settle for third after a speed-tracking run from gate nine. He's a winner waiting to happen with placings in three consecutive runs. Metal King just got the head down for fourth after finding a position one off travelling midfield. It was a much-improved effort at his second ever start over the Valley 1,200m. Specked late in betting, Spicy Spangle lost fourth late after a box-seat run. He's gone OK in back-to-back runs following a win. Rich Horse ran on without threatening after a one-off trip from behind midfield. Colonel was stopping 150m out after getting his own way in front from gate 10. Punted late Happy Trio went amiss and quickly sank through the field 800m out following a handy run.
