Recap by phillip woo

Charming Steed found plenty after hitting the lead 100m out from midfield for a second win on this surface this term. He loves the all-weather track. Meepmeep wove a run near the inside for second after making his run from second last after beginning from gate 14. He has done very little wrong in his past four starts following a switch to all-weather racing. Precision Goal stayed on well for third after settling better than midfield and one off the fence. He's always a chance on this surface. Forever Folks ran on late near the inside to just snatch fourth after making his run five back on the fence. He is an honest performer on this surface. Spangle Fortune kept on one paced after sitting third in the run from gate eight. It was an OK effort. Fashion Legend knocked up late after cruising to the lead 150m out after tracking a hot pace from gate two. Early favourite Lucky Impact ran on without threatening from towards the rear after jumping in the air at the start.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four : (662) - POK FU LAM PUBLIC RIDING SCHOOL HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters

Horse No 1 G LINER (H072) H Bowman Jumped only fairly.

The performance of G LINER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, G LINER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Horse No 2 CONSPIRATOR (K090) L Hewitson The performance of CONSPIRATOR, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, CONSPIRATOR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 3 WONDERSTAR (J531) C L Chau When questioned C L Chau stated that the intention was to lead the event but not to push his mount in the early stages to do so as WONDERSTAR had raced too keenly in the lead at its most recent start.

He said after commencing well he allowed WONDERSTAR to obtain the lead without pressuring his mount to do so.

He said in the early stages WONDERSTAR then commenced to race keenly and whilst he was aware that his mount was running inside of standard time he was unable to set a slower pace as his mount was racing too keenly.

He added from the 800 Metres WONDERSTAR came under pressure before giving ground in the Home Straight.

He said he had recommended to connections to remove the blinkers from WONDERSTAR should the horse continue to race over the 1650 Metres.

Horse No 5 CHARMING STEED (E494) E C W Wong Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 MATTERS MOST (K154) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 8 FASHION LEGEND (J080) A Atzeni When questioned A Atzeni stated that the intention was to hold an on-pace position.

He said in the early stages when WONDERSTAR set a fast early pace he was awkwardly placed at the front of the main body of the field which made it difficult to judge the pace upon which the race was being run.

He said when WONDERSTAR continued to maintain its sizeable lead in the middle stages he encouraged his mount forward in an endeavour to make up some ground on that runner.

He said after considering the sectional times of the event and the times upon which FASHION LEGEND had run, A Atzeni agreed with the Stewards that in retrospect he would have been better suited by riding his mount in a more conservative manner in the middle stages to provide FASHION LEGEND with an opportunity to finish the race off in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 11 MEEPMEEP (H234) B Avdulla From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Approaching the 150 Metres was shifted to the outside of FASHION LEGEND to continue into clear running.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 13 LUCKY IMPACT (J337) M Chadwick Bounded on jumping and lost ground.

Lay out making the Home Turn and in the Home Straight.

Horse No 14 PHANTOM CYCLONE (J271) H T Mo From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
