Recap by phillip woo

Punted late Lean Master settled prominently and took control near the 100m for a third career success from 32 starts. He deserved that after minor placings in five of 12 earlier starts this term. Happy United ran on steadily to grab second after a rails run from midfield with a move to a three-pound claimer. He was able to build on a ground-covering fifth last start. Spicy Spangle ran on nicely with one wider out for third after making his run fourth last following a slow start. It was a good run with a step back to the distance of a win in March. Harmony Fire ran on well for fourth after a wide trip from behind midfield. It was his best performance from nine starts this term. Majestic Delight made ground late for fifth after making his run towards the rear from gate six. He's still a work in progress but shown hints of ability in his four starts. Sergeant Pepper made some ground without threatening after straightening behind midfield near the inside. Early favourite Savvy Twinkle threw in the towel 150m out after going forward three wide to lead late-fancied favourite Day Day Victory 700m out from gate nine. He had an excuse.

Horse No 3 HARMONY FIRE (E175) E C W Wong On jumping was crowded between HAPPY BOYS and SAVVY TWINKLE, both of which shifted ground slightly.

Horse No 5 SZERYNG (K317) K Teetan From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After the event K Teetan reported that his mount raced greenly, lay in when placed under pressure in the Home Straight and proved difficult to ride out.

Horse No 6 LEAN MASTER (H134) H Bentley Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 LA MOMENTO (J476) M Chadwick Bumped at the start.

Horse No 8 SPICY SPANGLE (J087) A Hamelin Jumped only fairly and then was steadied when crowded between VICTORYTHIRTYTHREE and HAPPY UNITED.

Horse No 9 VICTORYTHIRTYTHREE (J216) J Orman Bumped at the start.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea and also found the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.

Before being allowed to race again, VICTORYTHIRTYTHREE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 10 HAPPY BOYS (J545) L Hewitson On jumping became unbalanced when it bumped with HARMONY FIRE.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Near the 400 Metres was steadied to avoid SERGEANT PEPPER when racing tight to the inside of SZERYNG.

Horse No 11 SAVVY TWINKLE (K067) Z Purton Bumped at the start.

Near the 50 Metres, when giving ground, was steadied to avoid DAY DAY VICTORY (A Badel) which shifted in.

A Badel was advised to exercise more care.

When questioned Z Purton stated that from a wide barrier he was obliged to make use of his mount to take up a position outside the lead.

He said this was the principal reason for the horse performing disappointingly as compared to its last start on 23 April 2025 when it enjoyed a better run from an inside barrier on that occasion.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, SAVVY TWINKLE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race.
