Racing Incident Report
Race Three : (719) - SHA TIN HOI HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 LUCKY SYMPHONY (J089) A Atzeni Bumped shortly after the start.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 BETTER AND BETTER (K277) M L Yeung Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by PRESTIGE HALL which shifted in.
For some distance after the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid DIRIYA.
Approaching the 600 Metres was checked to avoid DIRIYA, shifted out and bumped CLUB ACE.
After the race the Veterinary Surgeon reported that the horse had sustained a minor wound to its right front cannon.
Horse No 3 DIRIYA (K282) C L Chau Leaving the 700 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by AMAZING GALAXY which shifted in and away from KA YING WARRIOR when racing tight to the inside of that runner.
Between the 400 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running.
Horse No 5 INCREDIBLE MOMENT (K275) L Ferraris After the event L Ferraris stated that the intention was to lead.
He said despite riding his mount along in the early stages it did not show sufficient pace to do so and when unable to cross KA YING WARRIOR his mount was obliged to race very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
He added that in the Home Straight his mount was left without a finishing effort and raced greenly.
Noted to have lost its right front plate after the race.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 LUCKY MY WAY (K146) K C Leung Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 PRESTIGE HALL (K040) H Bowman Raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages.
Near the 750 Metres was then checked to avoid AMAZING GALAXY when that runner was being steadied to allow HAPPY PARK to cross.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 SMART FAT CAT (K280) M F Poon Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 9 KA YING WARRIOR (H028) Z Purton Approaching the finish was steadied when crowded by PRESTIGE HALL (H Bowman) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.
H Bowman was advised to exercise more care.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on KA YING WARRIOR at the request of Trainer T P Yung.
The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, KA YING WARRIOR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 10 CLUB ACE (J523) B Avdulla Bumped shortly after the start.
Near the 750 Metres was steadied to avoid PRESTIGE HALL.
Near the 650 Metres became unbalanced when crowded between PRESTIGE HALL and BETTER AND BETTER which shifted out.
Horse No 12 AMAZING GALAXY (J238) K Teetan Between the 450 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running behind LUCKY SYMPHONY.
Over the final 200 Metres could not be fully tested when it continued to race close behind LUCKY SYMPHONY.
After the event K Teetan reported that his mount raced keenly and after the 700 Metres shifted in and away from KA YING WARRIOR when positioned tight to the inside of that runner.
Horse No 13 MAGIC COMBO (K213) L Hewitson After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on MAGIC COMBO at the request of Trainer C S Shum.

After switching off heels for a clear run 250m out following a patient ride third last, Lucky My Way quickened nicely to get up 50m out for a first win at his third start. Prestige Hall finished well to take second by a lip after a one-off trip from midfield. It was an encouraging debut effort off a good preparation. Another newcomer, Smart Fat Cat caught the eye to come from last to just miss second prize money. He's got an engine underneath him. Sensationally backed, Better And Better ran on nicely along the inside for fourth after a rails run from behind midfield following a sluggish start. He's improved from one run to the next. Diriya wasn't too far away in the end after getting held up until the 150m following a rails run from midfield. Lucky Symphony gradually faded after briefly finding the lead near the 200m following a pace-stalking run from gate 11.
