Racing Incident Report
Race Three : (730) - WONG NAI CHUNG GAP HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 FORTUNE WHISKEY (J153) M F Poon Jumped only fairly.
From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 2 KING ECCELLENTE (G264) J Orman After travelling a short distance became unbalanced when crowded between GOOD PROSPECT and VULCANUS which shifted out slightly.
Horse No 3 BEAUTY THUNDER (J299) Z Purton A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 MEGA BONUS (E184) E C W Wong Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 INCANTO STAR (K343) A Badel Slow to begin.
Horse No 6 SZERYNG (K317) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly.
Near the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid GOOD PROSECT.
In the middle stages raced ungenerously.
Near the 500 Metres was hampered when taken wider by GOOD PROSPECT which shifted out.
Horse No 8 JOLLY COMPANION (H454) C L Chau Leaving the 50 Metres raced in restricted room between BEAUTY THUNDER and INCANTO STAR which shifted out slightly.
After the event C L Chau reported that the instructions were to go forward.
He said his mount jumped only fairly and did not show sufficient pace in the early stages to hold a forward position which he attributed to the "Good to Yielding" track conditions.
Horse No 9 GOLDEN FRIENDSHIP (K106) L Ferraris Near the 1150 Metres was momentarily crowded by MEGA BONUS which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.
Raced wide and without cover from the 600 Metres.
After the event L Ferraris reported that his mount failed to handle the "Good to Yielding" track conditions.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 GOOD PROSPECT (J406) A Atzeni After travelling a short distance became unbalanced when it bumped with KING ECCELLENTE.
Making the turn near the 1000 Metres was steadied when crowded between VULCANUS and FORTUNE RACER which was taken in by MEGA BONUS (Apprentice E C W Wong) which shifted in when not clear.
Apprentice Wong was severely reprimanded.
After the event A Atzeni reported that his mount travelled satisfactorily in the early stages but when asked for an effort in the Home Straight did not stretch out on the "Good to Yielding" track conditions.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 VULCANUS (J150) K De Melo After the event K De Melo reported that leaving the 300 Metres his right foot slipped from his stirrup for a short distance before he was able to reposition it into his stirrup.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 FORTUNE RACER (J234) M L Yeung The performance of FORTUNE RACER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNE RACER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Veteran Mega Bonus led and never looked back after turning the final bend two lengths on top for a sixth win from 46 starts. He been knocking on the door and appeared to enjoy the wet track conditions. Favourite Vulcanus stayed on nicely for second after a prominent run on the fence. He was able to back up a runner-up performance last start. King Eccellente stayed on a non-threatening third after a rails run from midfield. He is always a chance down in Class Four. Incanto Star ran on nicely along the inside for fourth after showing no early pace and settling a distant last. It was an encouraging debut performance. Fortune Whiskey came from well back and widest out at the top of the straight to grab fifth. It was another honest effort over the Valley 1,200m. Szerying kept on all right for sixth after a wide with cover trip from behind midfield. The three-year-old has shown some progress from one run to the next but looks a better prospect for next season. Wiseman ran on without threatening after making his run fourth last from gate 11. He's gone all right in his past two of three starts, but is still a work in progress.
