Race Seven : (734) - TAI TAM GAP HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1800Meters
Horse No 2 CAMBRIDGE (K085) C L Chau In the middle stages raced keenly and after the 900 Metres got its head up when being steadied to avoid FLAMINGO TRILLION.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 SENOR TOBA (G103) J Orman Jumped only fairly.
From the 900 Metres raced very wide and without cover.
Horse No 4 STAR MAC (J053) B Avdulla Jumped only fairly.
Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of B Avdulla, 7th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race.
Horse No 6 LUCK IS BACK (J398) K De Melo Raced keenly in the early stages when being shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier.
For some distance leaving the 1300 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from SENOR TOBA.
Horse No 7 CASA ROCHESTER (J494) Z Purton A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.
Before being allowed to race again, CASA ROCHESTER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 8 ALLCASH (K190) M Chadwick Near the 1300 Metres was steadied to avoid JOY OF SPRING.
After the event M Chadwick stated that the instructions were to go forward and lead if circumstances permitted.
He said ALLCASH bounded on jumping, lost ground and as a result settled further back than intended.
Horse No 9 JOY OF SPRING (H383) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly.
Near the 1300 Metres was steadied to avoid CASA ROCHESTER when racing keenly.

Horse No 10 STURDY RUBY (H207) A Badel A Badel was fined the sum of $3,000 for returning to scale 2 lbs overweight.
Jumped awkwardly.
Approaching the 1300 Metres raced keenly and as a result was steadied to avoid SHARPEN BRIGHT.
When the pace steadied in the middle stages was allowed to stride forward from the 900 Metres.
When STURDY RUBY was unable to cross GOOD LUCK WIN it was obliged to race wide and without cover for the remainder of the event.
Horse No 11 CHAIN OF GOLD (J138) K Teetan From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 12 GOOD LUCK WIN (J135) Y L Chung Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres raced in restricted room between FLAMINGO TRILLION and STURDY RUBY as it endeavoured to improve between those two runners.

Joy Of Spring from behind midfield took over 60m out after a rail run to make it three wins from 16 starts and two wins from three starts over the Valley 1,800m. Cambridge found one too good after poking his head in front 150m out following a box-seat run. He proved an upset win last start was not a fluke. Flamingo Trillion wouldn't go down without a fight after dictating the pace carrying top weight from gate eight. It was an improved effort back in Class Three over his favourite Valley 1,800m. Good Luck Win battled away for fourth after a speed-tracking run from gate 10. It was an okay effort, but he's a better prospect down in Class Four company. Sturdy Ruby wasn't beaten far in the end after switching three wide following a one-off trip from midfield at the 800m. It wasn't a bad run with a step up to 1,800m. Allcash just won a three-way battle for sixth prize money travelling fourth last after rearing at the start. Punted late Star Mac ran on to finish next best after making his run one from the rear. Firming favourite Casa Rochester was disappointing after a rails run from better than midfield.
