Kaholo Angel with a rails run from midfield got up 50m out near the inside for a third win over the Valley 1,200m from his past four starts despite a rise in class. He's proving a real specialist over this course. Punted late Colourful King surged late to just grab second after a one-off trip from better than midfield. It was another solid run despite a step up to 1,200m. Tomodachi Kokoroe grudgingly gave way late to dead heat for third after claiming the lead 180m out slotting third and one off the fence from gate 10. He rarely produces a bad run over the Valley 1,200m. Well-backed late Harmony N Blessed kept battling away to share third after dictating the run from gate two. It was another good effort following a last start win in Class Three. Brave Star got going late for fifth after making run third last from gate eight. It wasn't a bad effort, but he's a better prospect in Class Three. Aurora Lady just plodded after a prominent run on the fence from gate one. He had his chance. Favourite Horsepower made only a mild bid after making his run five back on the fence. He wasn't able to handle a rise in class and distance

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine : (736) - WAN CHAI GAP HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 AURORA LADY (J066) M F Poon Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 3 TOMODACHI KOKOROE (H303) L Ferraris Shifted in shortly after the start and was bumped.

Horse No 5 HORSEPOWER (J431) Z Purton Bumped on jumping.

After the event Z Purton reported that his mount raced too keenly throughout the early and middle stages and refused to settle.

He added this was the reason why HORSEPOWER did not run on when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.

Trainer F C Lor concurred with the views offered by Jockey Purton and added that the horse had prepared well for tonight's race when it performed to his satisfaction in a barrier trial on 22 May 2025 over 1200 Metres.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 WONDER KIT (G455) L Hewitson Crowded on jumping by STELLAR EXPRESS which shifted in.

Horse No 7 KAHOLO ANGEL (H216) E C W Wong Approaching the 1000 Metres was steadied when crowded by COLOURFUL KING which was taken in by TOMODACHI KOKOROE (L Ferraris) which shifted in.

Whist the Stewards accepted that Jockey Ferraris had made some attempt to prevent his mount from shifting in he was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

Held up making the Home Turn.

On straightening raced tight between HARMONY N BLESSED and STELLAR EXPRESS when obtaining a run between those horses.

Horse No 8 MID WINTER WIND (K208) A Badel On jumping was crowded between HORSEPOWER and COLOURFUL KING, both of which shifted ground.

Horse No 9 STELLAR EXPRESS (J186) B Avdulla Shifted in at the start and was bumped.

After the event B Avdulla stated that he was obliged to make use of his mount in the early stages to cross to the lead.

He added in the Home Straight STELLAR EXPRESS did not respond to his riding and, in his opinion, is better suited over the 1000 Metres straight at Sha Tin.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 10 BRAVE STAR (G268) K De Melo Shortly after the start raced tight to the inside of GUSTOSISIMO which shifted in after bumping with TOMODACHI KOKOROE.

Horse No 11 COLOURFUL KING (K227) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly.

Raced wide and without cover from the 600 Metres.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No GLORY ELITE (H311) K C Leung Withdrawn on 3.6.25 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (both front tendon injury) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter SON PAK FU.

Before being allowed to race again, GLORY ELITE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

After the running of Race 2, the track classification was officially changed from "Good" to "Good to Yielding" This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.
