Racing Incident Report
Race One : (737) - CHAK ON HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 MY FLYING ANGEL (J174) Z Purton After the event Z Purton reported that his mount did not stretch out during the running of the race and he had some concerns with its action.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained a wound to its left hind leg.
Before being allowed to race again, MY FLYING ANGEL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 2 KING OBERON (H407) H Bowman Bumped at the start.
Raced wide and without cover from the 800 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 SPICY SO SMART (G203) A Hamelin After the event A Hamelin reported that his mount raced "flat" A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 TAIHANG SCENERY (J314) E C W Wong After being crossed by RUBY SAILING near the 800 Metres commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied away from RUBY SAILING.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 KA YING POWER (H169) C L Chau Bumped at the start.
In the middle stages raced keenly and approaching the 800 Metres shifted out when being steadied away from MY FLYING ANGEL.
Near the 250 Metres rider C L Chau dropped his whip.
Horse No 6 SOLAR UP (J134) M Chadwick Fractious in the starting gates and jumped awkwardly.
After the event, M Chadwick reported that his mount failed to run on in the Home Straight and had a tendency to shy out away from the inside.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 MODEST GENTLEMAN (G352) A Atzeni Near the 900 Metres was steadied when crowded by TAIHANG SCENERY which shifted in and away slightly from RUBY SAILING (Apprentice P N Wong) which shifted in when not clear before being corrected.
Apprentice Wong was severely reprimanded and advised she must ensure that she leaves sufficient racing room for runners to her inside.
Approaching the 700 Metres was checked to avoid TAIHANG SCENERY.
Between the 450 Metres and the 300 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running.
Over the final 150 Metres lay out under pressure.

Horse No 10 FALCON COURT (J056) K Teetan After the event K Teetan could offer no explanation for his mount's failure to finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 FLYING PHANTOM (J086) B Avdulla From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

The well-backed Ruby Sailing made the running and after straightening two lengths clear kept up a strong gallop from gate eight for a maiden win at his 20th start. The move to a 10-pound claimer worked the oracle. Favourite King Oberon just won the battle for second after a prominent run wide without cover from gate six. He should get away with a race shortly in this grade. Modest Gentleman ran on steadily to make it close for second after a rail run from better then midfield. It was a good effort at his first Sha Tin start on turf. Punted late Flying Phantom made good ground late through the centre for fourth after making his run third last from gate nine. It was a typical run on without threatening performance. My Flying Angel made some ground late for fifth after settling four back and one off the fence. It was an okay effort down in grade carrying top weight. Urban Triumph came from last and widest out at the head of the straight to finish next best. It was a better effort following a gear change at his third run for his new trainer.
