Race Eleven : (766) - THE HONG KONG JOCKEY CLUB SCHOLARSHIPS HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 YOUNG ACHIEVER (J291) H Bowman Jumped only fairly.
Making the Home Turn raced tight to the inside of MEGA FORCE.
Horse No 2 SILVERY BREEZE (K057) K Teetan From the 900 Metres was left racing wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 ARMOUR WAR EAGLE (J039) L Hewitson From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 5 PATCH OF STARS (J343) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 VICTORY SKY (J540) K C Leung Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 SEA CHARIOT (K358) M Chadwick Leaving the 1200 Metres brushed the running rail.
In the early part of the Home Straight hung in and proved difficult to ride out.
Horse No 9 SUPREME MASTERMIND (K387) B Avdulla Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
In the middle stages raced keenly and for some distance near the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid FIVEFORTWO.
Horse No 10 FORTUNE SUPERNOVA (K287) H Bentley Jumped awkwardly.
For a short distance near the 900 Metres raced tight to the inside of ENDEARED.
A short distance later was steadied to avoid ENDEARED (A Atzeni) which shifted in when not quite clear.
A Atzeni was advised to exercise more care.
GENERAL:

Trainer P F Yiu was fined the sum of $3,000 for having failed to fulfil his responsibilities in complying with a proper direction issued by the Club that restricted the number of horses permitted to work on the Large All Weather Track to three, in that he had worked four horses (one additional) on the track this morning.

Racing Laboratory tests of STORM RUNNER, MR ALADDIN, LEATHER MASTER, FIREFOOT, S J TOURBILLON, MEGA BONUS, VULCANUS, MIDORI FUJI, WROTE A NEW PAGE, CAPITAL LEGEND, BIENVENUE, TACTICAL COMMAND, GOLDEN DARCI, STORM RIDER, STORMING DRAGON, CAMBRIDGE, CASA ROCHESTER, JOY OF SPRING, KEEFY, PRESTIGE GOOD, HIGHLAND RAHY, HORSEPOWER, KAHOLO ANGEL and COLOURFUL KING (4.6.25) proved negative.

Patch Of Stars travelled better than midfield on the rails, cruised to the lead 200m out and won with plenty in hand for a third straight win from eight starts. He appears to have a class in hand. Victory Sky ran on nicely for second after a finding a prominent spot with cover from gate 13. He's a winner waiting to happen with placings in six of 11 local starts. Master Of All dictated the pace for third from gate one. It was another good effort following throat surgery. Endeared ran on late for fourth without threatening the top three after a wide trip with cover travelling behind midfield. He has run well to fill the frame in two of three starts following a March win. Beauty Glory gradually faded after a speed-tracking run from gate 10. He's better when allowed to dictate the pace. Young Achiever made some ground without threatening after switching into the open 200m out following a patient ride two from the rear. It wasn't a bad effort at his first run following a suspensory ligament injury in November.
